The special delivery takes on a new seasonal form
A delivery is a matter of convenience. It is also a way to save time and multi-task. Additionally, it is becoming easier and easier to set up a delivery. Even a merchant running a delivery crew has an updated method of getting a delivery to the at home customer. The faster the better. In fact, more emphasis on a timely drop-off is a goal of every delivery. And it’s about more than just hustle.
It doesn’t take much for a delivery to go from ordinary to special. Furthermore, delivery apps make it possible to combine deliveries from different retailers. For example, a nice steak dinner from a favorite restaurant, and a quart of ice cream from the local ice cream shop. Two separate pickups. One special delivery. This is also possible with an alcohol delivery.
Most every courier knows the combinations. It begins with a traditional meal from a favored restaurant. Then, there is an alcohol pickup. It combines with the dinner pickup. Sometimes the combination is complimentary. In other words, a premium pasta dish from a high end Italian restaurant and a bottle of wine from the alcohol merchant. Once again, two separate pickups, one special delivery.
The Special Delivery
A special delivery isn’t always part of a stack. It can also be a standalone delivery. Larger dinner orders are prime candidates for special status. A courier best practice on these deliveries, is remembering the accessories and extras. The odds are that the larger dinner is a family meal. Therefore, it is important to check for special instructions.
The special instructions matter as early as possible. There are things that can only be done at the merchant location. Such as getting plates and utensils. Or getting the drinks. In the case of the larger family meals, the details matter. The little details impact the overall delivery quality. Furthermore the courier has an opportunity to take part in a special delivery success story.
As the season changes and things like school and Fall activities begin, the special delivery will take on a different form. It may include groceries from the local market. Or maybe groceries and pizza. Furthermore, there might be separate meals from two separate merchants. There are more than a few possibilities. Similarly, there are more than a few reasons for the courier to handle each delivery with diligence.
A New Seasonal Form
As the summer season begins to move into a new school year, the delivery scene will change. There will be a shift in delivery types. For example, there will be an uptick in early evening dinner deliveries. A courier may also see a drop in weekday alcohol deliveries. And an uptick in weekend alcohol delivery. The only thing predictable, is the unpredictable nature of the delivery request.
With this in mind, it is a given that the special delivery will be a part of the courier’s delivery strategy. No matter what that delivery cargo may be. Furthermore, as the seasons change, delivery requests also change. Therefore, a regular delivery is sometimes a special delivery in disguise.
