The full moon dust off – Tales of the Courier
The road blazes by, and the ride bears down. He is moving so fast the scenery is all blurry. 1courier grins. Nothing can compare to high velocity under a full moon. Therefore, he pushes the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor. At this speed he may soon go airborne. He checks the rear view. All clear. Furthermore, it has been all clear, since he refueled with the top shelf booze.
The m-com link flashes. HQ wants an update. Although he considers it, it’s still too risky. It will have to wait. At least until he exits the badlands. As if reading his tags, the roadblock crew reappears in his rear view mirror. They definitely had relentless going for them. However, there were only three roadblock phantoms now. Therefore something must have happened. There were several more in pursuit, after he left the cave.
As the road unwinds in front of him, the gap closes behind him. 1courier gives a quick double look. It wasn’t his imagination. They were closing in on him. And fast. He checks the ride’s speed. Just over two hundred. Then he gives a quick glance back to the rearview mirror. And can’t believe his eyes. Indeed, they have closed the gap even more. At least by half of what it was a second ago. In fact, he has just enough time to think What the..!? Before things get worse.
The Full Moon Dust Off
Now the fuel gauge is on E. Likewise the roadblock crew is closing in fast. What they will do to try and stop him, is anyone’s guess. So far he is the only courier to even try to make this delivery. Therefore, he cannot allow a dust off, or let them get any closer.

With this in mind, he reaches into the small box on the floor of the passenger side. Inside the box are two quarts of premium grade oil. Then he pulls out his trusty pocket knife, and quickly cuts the top off one of the quarts. And he checks the rear view again. There would only be one chance at this. As the roadblock crew pushes to get even closer 1courier drops the window and holds the open quart of oil up and over the ride.
The wind does the rest. The quart sprays backward and coats the windshield of the closest pursuer. The effect is immediate. They slam the brakes and leave the chase. They have to get up pretty oily in the morning to catch him. Furthermore, since it’s midnight, no cigar. The dust off has begun. 1courier grins. And gets a hard hit from the rear of the ride. It is almost his undoing, as the tires screech, and the ride tries to break free.
Tales of the Courier
1courier is being pursued out of the badlands. Moreover the fuel is almost gone. The roadblock crew is determined to put a stop to this delivery. Additionally, the m-com link flashes continuously now. HQ is serious about the contact. If he didn’t need both hands on the wheel, he would definitely oblige them. The closest pursuer rams the back of the ride again. However, this time the vehicle fish tails. And he barely keeps it between the lines.
1courier grabs the second quart of oil. After removing the top, he lets it fly. Bullseye. The vehicle behind him spins out of control, and leaves the road. And good riddance. Then, more good news appears. The Nalphia city limits sign is just ahead. Therefore he is almost home free. Similarly, as if reading his tags again, the last pursuer drops off the chase. Within seconds 1courier crosses the city limits sign. One mile later he pulls over at a rest stop.
Now he can take HQ’s call. However, twenty seconds later, he wishes he had just let it flash. He missed a second cargo pickup in the badlands. HQ is sending him back in. Immediately.
