The challenge of the special challenge delivery

The challenge of the special challenge delivery.

The best delivery is the familiar one. A familiar delivery is a timer saver. It’s also a money maker. The reasons are mostly simple, previous knowledge of a location makes return trips faster. Likewise, visualization of a known area improves overall completion times. Not every delivery is smooth sailing. Therefore, familiar deliveries help when they happen. This is more evident on the longer delivery shifts. Especially when there are faraway deliveries running back to back.

Back to back deliveries usually means a rush environment. During a rush event the courier may have several occurrences of stacked deliveries. It’s not uncommon to have two in the hand and two waiting in the wings. Furthermore, that pace can continue into the late hours of the evening. However, this is a positive way to improve earnings. The more opportunities the courier takes on, the more chances there are to get paid.

With this in mind, it is more common these days for delivery apps to offer incentives. Different apps have different incentives, or promotions. However, they all boil down to the same bottom line. The courier has a chance to boost, and improve, the earnings. Additionally, there will be extra earnings above and beyond the normal flow of the courier’s regular earnings.

    The Challenge Delivery

The challenge delivery is about special promotions. More often than not it is valid during peak business hours. This is where the incentive part comes into play. Couriers are in demand during peak business hours. The difference between enough couriers, and too few, is exactly one at the right time. This is especially true during holidays or major sporting events. Therefore it isn’t uncommon to see a special challenge delivery offer, during holidays or major sporting events.

    challenge

In fact, many delivery apps run advertising for the promotions ahead of time. This gives couriers a chance to plan ahead. Accepting a special challenge delivery has rules and sometimes they are tough to follow. For example, a high volume of completions for a bonus payout. This is definitely a challenge. Oftentimes it’s ten or twenty deliveries. Once the total is achieved the courier receives the bonus payout.

This is an advantage for the courier working long delivery shifts. Furthermore, many of the promotions are running because business is expected to be better than average. Therefore it is important to keep an eye out for special announcements in the delivery app. Those announcements have useful information. For example, start and end times of the promotions. And how much additional earnings are available.

    Delivery Special

Delivery apps will also send promotional emails. The emails will contain the same information available in the app. Or at the very least the email will refer the courier to the app for additional details. It’s tough to be a driver and miss these promotions. The apps make it known. Furthermore the promotions are usually targeted. In other words they are designed to help manage a large volume of delivery requests.

This is one reason why there are usually promotions on the weekends. And especially for the holidays. Or the day before a major holiday. It’s a build up. Better to have too many couriers than not enough. Not being able to manage a delivery rush is bad medicine for a delivery app. That’s just too many deliveries. Said no delivery app ever. We should scale back these deliveries. Said no courier ever. So the need for couriers, makes sense.

    challenge

Enter the delivery incentives. Furthermore, many of them are all about improved earnings. One excellent example is a promotion that Door dash runs regularly. It’s the, add a two dollar increase, to every delivery. However, the dollar amounts change depending on the day. And there may be other factors that only Door dash knows about. The bonus is sound though, and over the course of several deliveries, it adds up.

    Special Challenge

The special challenge is something even merchants occasionally do. Although the incentives and offers are exclusive to the franchise, or the brand, it’s still a way for the courier to pick up some additional pay. A bonus payout, for a certain number of delivery completions, is the usual setup. However, due to extended resources, some merchants can offer more than cash payouts. Perhaps the courier can win tickets to a show. Or maybe gift cards to a favorite restaurant.

That is in addition to, any tips, or regular pay. The courier need only show up and make those completions. It is a matter of timing because the promotions will expire. Furthermore, once they do, it’s back to regular earnings from the queue. This is one reason why watching for emails and notices in the app, is so important. That is actually one part of the challenge. Being ready when the incentives trigger. And the next is getting a jump right from the start.

Delivery incentives are a chance for the courier to pump up the earnings. Additionally they are most likely to happen during high volume delivery shifts. This is a great signal, for future reference. If many new promotions appear and they are lucrative, chances are a major holiday, or sporting event is ahead. In fact, it could also be a weather related event, like an unexpected blizzard. There are also incentives for those types of situations. Thank goodness Spring is on the horizon. Stay safe out there.
