A new season has begun! Time to get out on the road for another adventure. An evening run that begins just after setting sun. Longer days mean a later sunset. Therefore, normal rush windows will shift to accommodate. This also signals the beginning of the late late night delivery season. And that is with an extra late because delivery will always run until the very last minute.
With this in mind, it’s never a bad time, to go back over the basics. The Fall and Winter seasons require preparation. The same is true for the Spring and Summer seasons. The idea of cargo care should be priority number one for a courier. A successful delivery completion is one thing, but a delivery completion with the cargo in pristine condition, is the goal every time. Experienced couriers know that double checking everything is rule number one. Double checking everything again, is rule number three. Yes, it should be rule number two. Way to double check!

The care of the delivery cargo begins the moment it is picked up from the merchant. Furthermore, not all delivery cargo is the same. This means groceries, pet supplies, alcohol containers, and hot fresh food. Plus any other item that can possibly be delivered. However, out of all of these, the hot fresh food delivery is the most vulnerable to road shake drama. Or courier disregard. Or pothole interference.
It is important to carry the pizza in a flat position. It might seem like there is no other way, but there is, and it’s not pretty. Therefore, it’s pizza in a flat position, at all times.
Likewise, soups and fountain drinks, should remain upright at all times. And one of the easy to overlook delivery items, is the ice cream delivery. This includes specialty milkshakes, and custom frozen specialty items. All of these types of items should be carried upright and as level as possible at all times.
For Delivery Couriers
Another important kind of delivery cargo to consider is the sealed bag. This bag is the preferred delivery container for certain merchants. In fact, some merchants have it down to a science. For example, a custom drink carrier insert, so the fountain drinks can be placed inside the bag. This is definitely cargo that should be kept upright.
Similarly the sealed bags that contain an entire delivery order, are set up to arrive to the delivery customer, intact. Especially the way the items are stacked within the bag. This stack integrity is important. Furthermore, couriers do not open packages or bags of any kind. Therefore, keeping the packed, and bagged, delivery order level and upright is important.
In other words, take good care of the delivery, until it becomes the delivery completion. This is just a few of the handle with care delivery reminders. Careful diligence, is an effective method for a pristine delivery completion. Almost every time. Stay safe out there.
