Yo driver! Good day running, slim pickings at times, and that’s good! Means there’s lots of us out there. Theanonymouscourier.com, is still in it’s beginning phase. Much is planned, and will be available soon. The Fall is also in it’s beginning phase, and if you’re new to being a driver/courier, it’s exciting news! Not only is football back, (yes-1driver+football=happy) but the fall signals the start of, ‘the season’! So let’s talk about nighttime tricks, for tips.
The Fall also brings colder temperatures and shorter days. There is a distinct difference between day delivering and night delivering. The difference is more profound, further away from the light pollution of large cities. There’s much to take for granted on day deliveries, with all that light lending a helping hand. These, nighttime tricks for tips, may come in handy on those spooky, nighttime deliveries.
Investing in top shelf lights for your ride is not only safety conscious, it’s extremely useful in rural areas. In most cases, the upgraded lights can be found at your local auto store. You can also price them ahead of time on most auto part store‘s websites.
Personal Light Gear
This can be anything from a flashlight to a bic lighter. Although the flashlight is less likely to burn your thumb. My personal pick is a head lamp for my head. Keeps my hands free for carrying cargo and such, and doesn’t interfere too much with my night vision.
Spotlight
This one shouldn’t be under considered. Especially if you are running tours in a large metropolitan area, with large apartment complexes. Some of those places can go for miles it seems. Identifying building numbers is often a pain in the ass in the daytime, and near impossible at night.
Safety
Safety really can’t be stressed enough. Play it safe. On to the next, only works if you’re not stuck at the last. Figuratively or literally. Deliveries and drop offs in dark, isolated places, can be nerve wracking. If it doesn’t feel right, reset, and make contact with the cargo client/customer to verify location.
If you can’t find a client/customer, and all you have is a dark, isolated situation, reset to a safe location. Try contact again, and check your arrival time. Chances are when you’re late to drop off cargo, the customer will start hunting you.
That’s a wrap for now, thanks for reading nighttime tricks, for tips. Comments and ideas are encouraged. What are some of your strategies for night delivering? Let’s get this season started!
