Welcome back, good day running! Lots of competition out there, coupled with good opportunities, can only mean one thing! FOOTBALL is back!!! And that signals the start of the, ‘season’, driver! If your new to the delivery /courier field, this is great news! If you love having the holidays off to enjoy, forget about it! You’re in the season now, and opportunity is knocking! Tis the season for hustle!
Back in the old days before the advent of the third party delivery systems, deliveries and delivery drivers were, ‘in house’, and tethered to a physical dispatch board.
As employees in the service industry, delivery drivers/couriers were required to work holidays as a condition of employment. Still are, when the company is open. Something to think on, for those opposed to P22. Either way you roll, tis the season for hustle. Let’s do some breakdown.
Holiday Rush
We’ve covered a little about the rush in other posts, so let’s touch on a holiday rush in this one. They do exist. Experienced drivers/couriers chuckle with this, and it’s amusing only because the timing of a rush on a holiday is, a little unpredictable.
Getting caught with your seat belt down is possible. Depending on the holiday, those times you run in a rush, can lead to better than average tips and pay. Customers/clients typically appreciate the fact you’re working for them on a holiday.
It’s also a good idea to notice what day of the week the holiday lands on. Monday holidays will have an earlier than normal Monday dinner rush, get there fast, baby. Friday holidays can rush all day, same with weekend holidays. Having football back on the weekends only adds to the fantastic tip opportunities.
As always, safety is top priority, and your first step to a successful tour. Comment your favorite, or most dreaded holidays for delivering, in the comment field below. Questions also welcome. Email newsletter will be up soon, subscribe early and get in on the first issue. Until then, tis the season for hustle. Safe journey, and see you out there somewhere, but not if I get there first!
