More on the road for road safety
Ah the road. The sweet smell of asphalt in the morning. Indeed, at the intersection, the air is filled with the sweet smell of carbon monoxide. The sparkle of safety glass pieces, twinkles in the middle of the intersection. The telltale sign of an eventful night.
The coffee is fresh. And so is the traffic. Furthermore the possibility for cheekiness is high. Not every one fingered wave, is meant to be a menace. However, it sure can feel like it.
More on the road
Of course this is just one example of being more on the road. Road safety has many elements. For example, staying alert. Similarly, road safety can look a lot like ignoring those one-fingered waves. And for Pete’s sake, avoid one finger waving back!
It is not a sign of affection.(The one finger wave) Furthermore, it will cause unpredictable results. Road safety is all about predictable results, because of responsible driving. It is also an underrated way of helping others on the road.
By now, the new courier may be wondering what this is all about. It is possible to sum it up in very few words. Or just one precise word: safety. It’s a good exercise to keep it in mind every moment while navigating the roads.
Safety is about being in the moment. Maintenance is a form of safety. Staying alert on dark deliveries is a form of safety. Avoiding things like road rage or road wrath is also a form of safety and a very important one.
Road Safety
Every courier that has driven for a while has been asked at one point or another, about road rage. Likewise any driver that uses the road to earn a living has methods for alleviating stress. One example of this could be listening to loud music while driving.

There is a lot happening on the road at any one time. Not only is patience a virtue but also an excellent safety approach. A wave is still best as a five finger event and delivery accuracy is much more important than high rates of speed. However all of that will be in the next article. Stay safe out there.
