Improved safety and fun facts about the delivery experience
How safe is your delivery? A question usually asked after the fact. Much of the time the courier is trying to move quickly. Saving time and resources are top priorities. Additionally there is traffic and then more traffic. And all the while, the GPS is guiding the trip. The courier is working for another delivery completion. From there the process begins again.
The safety of a delivery is an ongoing exercise. However, there should be no compromising the speed or accuracy of the delivery. With this in mind, it is good to see safety improvements in delivery apps. Especially the ones integrated into the delivery app. These features are a benefit for the courier. Furthermore, they are an excellent example of setting it, and then forgetting it. For example, location sharing with a contact. And the contact can be anyone the courier chooses.
This is just one example of the safety improvements in delivery apps. Furthermore different apps have different safety features. However, other than the names, the features are the same for the most part. Their primary purpose is for improving the safety of the courier. There are not many fun facts associated with a good safety routine. Yet that doesn’t mean that being safety conscious is a boring topic. In fact, it is anything but boring.
Improved Safety and Fun Facts
One of the top fun facts about a delivery is when an offer finds its way into the queue. The best ones always show when the courier is moving. If the courier wants a quick break. Just sit still. This applies to the solo courier using a delivery app. Crew couriers will get deliveries regardless. Furthermore it’s probably not a good idea for the crew courier to sit still. At least not while on the clock.

And on the clock is where the crew courier experiences another fun fact. There will always be a last minute delivery request. In fact, it can happen one minute before closing. Or it can be two minutes before closing. It isn’t a matter of if it will happen, but how close to closing it will happen. Closing drivers know this scenario very well.
And this is one area where safety improvements make a difference. Late night delivery. Between the dark and less lighting there are many challenges. Especially for a courier trekking over unfamiliar ground. Another of the fun facts for a courier is the gopher hole. It is almost certain every courier will find one in the dark. Moreover, they are ankle twisters, and leg trippers. And they are very easy to find in the dark. Just like puppy poo. Sticks to your shoe like poopy glue.
The Delivery Experience
However, that is part of the delivery experience. There’s always the unexpected. And it can involve almost anything. From maintenance on the ride, to poo on the shoe. Every time a courier takes on a delivery, it can easily turn into an adventure. And thanks to improved safety it can also be an opportunity for improved earnings. A definite win win for the courier. Stay safe out there.
