Hand it to me – The best hot and fresh delivery
There was a time in delivery when leaving something at the door was not a standard practice. In fact, the earliest of the delivery apps didn’t start out with leave at the door options. It was always a given that the customer would take delivery of hot fresh food, in person. Sometimes this created an issue, if the at home customer didn’t answer the door. The only option for a resolution was the return of the food to the merchant.
Returning the food to the merchant was an absolute last resort. The last thing a merchant wanted to do was lose a customer over a misunderstanding. Or the failure of a doorbell. For that reason, couriers were encouraged to do everything possible to find the customer. Including knocking very loudly. Just in case the customer was in a back room, or in the garage. Additionally the restaurant manager would try to locate the customer with a phone call. In other words the courier had some home base support.
This was how a delivery issue was handled when there were no delivery apps. The merchant handled the disputes because the courier was ultimately following orders. For example, every effort to locate the customer failed. Therefore, the courier was asked to return the delivery to the store. The courier was the employee and already lost any tip there might have been on the delivery. A return to the store was the only way forward.
Hand It To Me
That was the old days of delivery. Soon after those days the delivery apps began to arrive. They were crude at first. However, the ones that continued to work out the trouble spots, stayed relevant. That was important because soon after that there was a change in the world that had a direct impact on at home delivery. In fact, that change made at home delivery one of the primary ways to shop.

Furthermore, due to the nature of the information available in those days contactless delivery arrived just in time. Experienced couriers noticed the change right away. The wait time for the front door to open disappeared. The new directive was simple. Leave at the door. For the first time couriers had encouragement to abandon a hot fresh food delivery, at the doorstep.
It would be quite some time before a new directive began to take hold. Hand it to me. The new directive was like a breath of fresh air. It slowly began appearing as time moved forward, and circumstances in the world changed. Hand it to me is now making a real comeback. There is still the leave at the door option for a delivery drop-off. However, it is much less common now.
The Best Hot and Fresh Delivery
Meeting the at home customer at the door is a preferred delivery style. New couriers may find it slightly difficult at first. But the more times it happens, the better the courier becomes at the hand-off. Knowing what to say comes naturally after a few times. Especially if the courier has already been in contact with the customer.
For example, while at the pick-up location, or if there is a traffic delay. This previous contact is something to build on at the door. Hand it to me also means the courier will not have to wait at the door for long. The at home customer expects the courier, and knows there is a delivery on the way. This is relative to the hot fresh food delivery and grocery deliveries. Any delivery that requires a valid ID requires the at home customer to be present. The alcohol delivery is always a hand it to me delivery.
It is a welcome change. The better part of the courier’s job is interaction with the drop-off customer. The better that relationship, the better the chances for improved earnings. Additionally the overall quality of the delivery improves. Therefore, a hand it to me delivery is an advantage for the courier. It’s an opportunity to showcase professionalism. And it’s a good way to get to know the community. Sometimes the professional touch makes all the difference in a positive delivery experience. Stay safe out there.
