There are times when the courier has to wait for cargo to be readied. This is a time when time seems to stand still. Except over at the drop-off location. Over there time has sped up and the courier is now twenty minutes late.
Not really. However, the courier believes this to be the case. It is a slow down and that is the last thing the courier wants. Furthermore, the slowdown will compromise the flow of the whole shift. Not really, but the courier can feel that way.
This is a solo courier scenario. It is a completely different experience as a crew courier. Moreover, the crew courier isn’t stressing the delivery queue. It is a matter of memory, from the dispatch board. Therefore the crew courier will be busy with other things.

With this in mind it is a question that is often asked about running crew deliveries. Does the courier get paid to stand and wait for the next delivery? Also, if not, what does the courier do while waiting?
The answer is varied depending on the merchant. However the basic idea is assisting merchant staff where possible. In as much as the courier is trained to do so. In many cases, the courier assists with the basics. For example, the dishes, or answering the phones and taking orders.
The crew courier, is exactly that, part of a crew. With this in mind, it is to everyone’s advantage when the courier assists in merchant operations. Furthermore this assistance also helps expedite deliveries by freeing up merchant staff.
This allows the staff to focus on order fulfillment. Thereby keeping the courier running as well. This system is how a delivery rush can easily be managed by a merchant. And deliver, better deliveries. Stay safe out there.
