Alcohol delivery for the New Year celebration

Alcohol delivery for the New Year celebration

The New Year has arrived. The old year is now a memory. With the change in the date, comes a lot of celebration. The delivery rush will be intense for the New Year Holiday. Additionally, with all the celebrating, comes a need for refreshments.

With this in mind, one refreshment request seems to top them all. The alcohol delivery. There are more than a couple of articles on this site about the alcohol delivery. Just search the site with the keyword alcohol. Many of the articles cover the rules and procedures for completing an alcohol delivery.

In fact, there are more than a couple of things to keep in mind. Furthermore, there are definite rules that must be followed. The consequences of ignoring a delivery step on an alcohol delivery are more severe than just a bad rating.

However, all of this can be found in the articles mentioned above. This article is to cover a lesser talked about step in the process. This one has everything to do with meet at the door. This is a stipulation of the alcohol delivery. A completion requires an encounter with a customer.

A valid ID must be presented at the time of the delivery. Therefore, the courier must meet the drop-off customer at the door. Furthermore, this is an excellent time to practice those people skills. With so many drop-offs as leave at the door, it is refreshing to have an actual meet and greet.

This is part of this article’s purpose. The ID and it’s proper validation. The app does this using the courier’s smart phone. A quick scan of the ID confirms the ID as valid. Keeping the ID’s edges free of objects yields a quicker successful scan. In other words, whenever possible laying the ID down on a flat surface guarantees no finger tips are in the scan.

The scanner is less likely to work seeing finger tips around the edges. Next, there is sufficient lighting. If the environment is too dark the scanner will not be able to pick up the ID image. Therefore this can lead to several failed attempts. In a driveway setting, it’s possible to use the headlights to shed some light on the situation.

On occasion, it isn’t the lighting or the fingertips. In fact, it is also possible for a dirty camera lens to slow up the scanning process. Therefore it is helpful to polish or buff clean the camera lens, to remove smudges that can cause blurred images.

When all else fails, there are options to manually enter the information. It is slower, and requires more interaction with the drop-off customer. However, it is a back up process that works, if the traditional scan doesn’t. Especially if it’s an alcohol delivery for the New Year Celebration. Stay safe out there.
