A dispatch note improves the special notes for best results

The best delivery is a completed delivery. The pressure is off and the next offer is already in the queue. This is the moment to take in as many details as possible. The details determine if the offer is acceptable or not. In this example the offer is acceptable so it is confirmed. The courier’s next step is to navigate to the pickup location. After clearing the dispatch note.

The dispatch note doesn’t happen for every delivery. Furthermore, dispatch notes are for the courier. A dispatch note carries messages and instructions that only the courier needs to know. Depending on the delivery type the notes can vary. For example, the alcohol delivery. There is usually a dispatch note immediately after the courier accepts the offer. The note has legal disclaimers, and a message reminding the courier of the requirements for completing the delivery.

    The Dispatch Note Guide

There are different reasons for dispatch notes. Furthermore, dispatch notes are not the same as special notes, or additional instructions. There are times the courier will need additional information. Most delivery customers include this extra information in the special notes area of the delivery order. These special instructions help the courier with the delivery completion.

With this in mind, there are also times when HQ needs to communicate with the courier. For the crew courier this would be the merchant. For the solo courier this is usually the app. There are some communications that are urgent and apply specifically to the delivery the courier is on. This means a dispatch note appears to alert the courier.

    The Special Note

Communication with the courier is essential. Especially on a live delivery. Merchants use dispatch notes to customize a delivery. Or to alert the courier of problem addresses. And even as a reminder for road detours and closures in the store’s delivery zone. Furthermore, they are usually helpful and easy to find on the dispatch board. Likewise in the delivery app.

With this in mind, as mentioned earlier, they are not the same as the special note. There are customers that have special instructions for a delivery. One of the most common is do not ring doorbell. Sometimes there is a reason why but the courier doesn’t need to know that so much as the first instruction. Don’t ring the doorbell.Additionally this isn’t an odd request.

The courier sends a proof of delivery pic on every leave at the door delivery. Furthermore, the delivery customer usually keeps an eye out for the hot fresh food. Therefore knocking on the door, or ringing the doorbell, isn’t always necessary. The special instructions must be carried out. Otherwise they wouldn’t be there. This is how a delivery customer customizes their delivery. The courier need only read the notes.

A Dispatch Note Improves the Special Notes

It is important to observe both sets of notes. Although it may seem confusing at first. The notes show up where they will catch the courier’s attention. Similarly they sometimes show as a pop-up in the delivery app. Once again these notes are for the courier. Only the courier sees them. Furthermore, they are an important part of most deliveries.

The difference between the notes, improves the delivery. A dispatch note reminds the courier to validate the ID on an alcohol delivery. Meanwhile the special note alerts the courier of a difference in the room number. The address shows room 112 and the customer is actually in room 233.

Upon arrival to the hotel, another dispatch note reminds the courier to validate the ID. The notes work together to improve the delivery experience. This is only the start for this topic. It is expansive. And some of the most important dispatch notes happen after the delivery is complete. More on this in upcoming articles. Stay safe out there.
