Zone maps and more details in the rush
Every courier looks forward to the rush. The rush is bread and butter for the courier. Indeed, the courier counts on the rush to string together a prosperous shift. The prosperity comes from a greater volume of delivery completions.
With this in mind, it’s possible to see how being in the right place at the right time, can make a difference. This is the ideal place in any rush. However, the right place to start is not always clear. Furthermore, it can be a game of hit or miss when the courier is guessing.
A courier that drives with a crew has a static delivery area. Similarly the rush windows are reliable. The merchant will experience rush times that coincide with accustomed meal times. Not only is this an advantage to the crew courier, but also a marker for peace of mind.
More Details
Having a static delivery area has perks that solo couriers do not have. For example, predictability by brand. If the courier is driving for a pizza company, it’s a good bet Friday night will get extra busy. With this in mind, it’s a good thing when the solo courier gets a bonus!
Recently Ubereats has begun work with outlining and marking zones. Furthermore, the app has taken steps to add details to a delivery offer. Some of these are as simple as wait times upon arrival. However, that info can be golden at the right time.
Another feature that is additional help for the courier is intensity indicator colors. This information is extremely helpful for the courier, as it helps guide the way to the pay. For example the map is showing a zone that is red. This indicates a busy zone. However, there is now even more information available.
The Rush
Not only will the map show the area that is busy but also which areas in that busy zone are the busiest. This is done by changing the color intensity of the zone on the map. The deeper the color hues in the given zone, the busier the zone.
Furthermore there are additional features. Some of these involve updating the courier on the wait time with merchants that are experiencing a rush.
