Which is better, crew delivery or app delivery?
It’s an age old question. Maybe not so old, but important nonetheless. Come to think of it, age old, is also off the mark a bit. Delivery apps have been around for a while but they are not age old. Yet. However, the question is a good question. Which is actually better? A crew delivery from a trusted brand? Or a solo courier delivery, from a trusted app?
Each one has its ups, and each one has its downs. In other words, there are pros and cons with each one. Furthermore, this article is from the courier’s point of view. That doesn’t mean the details won’t help a delivery customer. In fact, there are many options when it comes to at home delivery. However, it wasn’t always that way. Back before the delivery app gained widespread use, there were just crew couriers. Or the courier that delivers for a merchant, or brand.
Considering that the at home delivery took time to perfect, it’s astounding the way things have changed. First the ordering systems improved. Then the dispatch systems expanded, and improved. The crew courier was at the forefront of the expanding delivery market. The delivery app and the advantages it brought, were only a matter of time, away.
Which is Better?
So, which is better? And does it matter? Isn’t a delivery, just a delivery? The short answer is yes. However, the delivery selection is anything but short, when using a delivery app. It’s been said, that variety is the spice of life. That is perhaps one of the biggest draws to the delivery app. Variety. Before there were delivery apps at-home delivery was a limited market.
The pizza delivery was one of the first at-home delivery options available. Additionally the at-home pizza delivery, became a staple for anyone wanting a hot fresh meal, with minimal work. Why spend hours cooking when the meal could be delivered? This concept caught on, and the at-home delivery cemented its place in history. Fast forward to today and the whole process is streamlined.
Furthermore, there are many more options in today’s world than when at-home delivery first started. For example breakfast food, or tacos. There are pharmacy deliveries, and alcohol deliveries, grocery deliveries, and the list grows everyday. This variety of delivery options, is one of the top reasons app deliveries can compete with a brand that delivers. Or a merchant offering in-house delivery of their food, or product.
Crew Delivery
The in-house delivery with a crew courier does have perks. For example, it is a dedicated service. In other words, the merchant is dealing with its own timetables and expediting needs. When a crew courier leaves the merchant with a delivery, the drop-off is the route. There isn’t another delivery, or pickup detour, popping up for the courier. Therefore the delivery is likely to be hot and fresh. Furthermore crew couriers are used to dealing with a specific product.
This dedicated handling, means the cargo will arrive intact, and with all accessories. Additionally the courier has real time help in the form of a home base. Or the merchant. Respectively. Furthermore, this article is just the beginning of a very broad topic. More will follow in upcoming articles. Stay safe out there.
