When it’s a strange sound on the vehicle, now what?
A good delivery shift is encouraging. It is also profitable. The experienced courier knows the value in keeping a good series going. The essence of any prosperous delivery rush, is keeping it going. In fact, the longer it rolls the better.
However, this is not the case with every delivery rush. A delivery rush has a murky start, and a silent end. Between those two points, is order from chaos. Furthermore, the rush is where every courier has an opportunity to improve earnings.
With this in mind, did anyone else hear that noise? There it is again! Hear it? It sounds like thwip, thump, click-rattle, hear it? No? Clearly, it must be a recurring sound. It was there a few seconds ago. However, nothing feels off with the ride, yet.
Strange Sound
Having this conversation in one’s thoughts while on the road is a yellow alert. At least that is how it seems. Furthermore, the alert is because the distance to a safe harbor is a ways, away. However, for the courier with a maintenance routine, this noise is one of curiosity.
For the courier without a good maintenance routine, the strange sounds are solved by an increase in radio volume. Just kidding. If it seems this is another boring maintenance article for the ride, it is. A maintenance article. The boring part can be solved by ignoring the strange noises indefinitely.
Maintenance routine, has an arduous ring to it. Furthermore, it sounds like it should be a scheduled event. And with all that needs scheduling these days, who has time to schedule something else, in the schedule?
Therefore, a basic maintenance tune-up every couple of days can be effective at keeping strange noises in check. Furthermore, it is as simple as remembering a few basic things. Every couple of days check these components of the ride for wear, and to be aware, of vehicle condition.
- Lights – (All are functioning?)
- Tires – (pressure of tires and tread wear)
- Windshield wipers -(wear and tear)
Now What?
With this basic routine in place, the courier will have a general idea of the condition of the ride. However, there are many different types of vehicles. And not all of them need the same maintenance, or regularity of maintenance.
Therefore the basic routine listed above goes well with any additional maintenance plan, or schedule the courier already has. Stay safe out there.
