The Weather Delay and 2 Ways to Beat Quack Tracking
Weather delays are a part of the job. If a courier isn’t encountering some form of weather, it must be a day off, or the beginning of the shift!
Occasionally the weather delays are from stormy weather. This type of weather can slow a courier down, and decrease the chances for potential earnings.
As always, safety is a top concern for every kind of weather event, including the less exciting normal events, like the sunny day. Keeping a safety conscious mindset while driving is an excellent way to a prosperous day!
When severe weather is in play, all bets for speedy work, must be hedged. There are some delays that are unavoidable. Most drop off locations are understanding of this scenario.
Occasionally the courier will meet with delays after the pickup of the cargo. Depending on which app the courier is working with, there will be tracking of the courier by the droppoff location.
Couriers are tracked by the drop off location, and are used to being observed as they work. Oftentimes there will be questions as to why there is a delay, or concerns that the courier may be lost.
This is a normal operating procedure for the courier. It is understandable that the customer is anxious to receive the delivery of the anticipated cargo! This is where beating the quack tracking is helpful.
Quack Tracking
When the weather is unpredictable and threatening, it is a bonus for the courier to create an open dialogue with the drop off location before the cargo is picked up.
Alerting the dropoff location of impending weather delays or difficulties, goes a long way towards beating the quack tracker.
This also takes some of the pressure off the courier. Eliminating the stress of looming deadlines, is an excellent way to a safe completion of the delivery.
Another thing to keep in mind is the timing of the pick up. It is a given that the quicker an offer is completed, the quicker the next offer can be accepted.
Marking cargo as picked up, when the courier is still waiting for the cargo, is a sure way to be the star, of the quack tracker. The app will assume the courier is on the way with the cargo, and so will the dropoff location.
Making sure the cargo is actually ready before marking it as picked up, will help keep the tracking of the courier as close to the real location, as is possible. Many times a customer will be waiting for the cargo!
When this happens having the cargo in the right place at the right time, is the bread and butter, of the courier’s pay! Weather delays are a part of the job, quack tracking is just a part of the same! Stay safe out there!
