The ups and downs of the grocery delivery and more
Even though it is great to be on the road, it is even better to be on the road. While that statement may sound odd, it does have a measure of truth. Couriers and delivery drivers are on the road earning pay. Therefore the road is the place to be.
Making brief stops often, is part of the job. Couriers are responsible, for the pickup of cargo, once an offer is accepted. Once the cargo is secured, it’s a matter of travelling to the dropoff location.
The courier moves quickly to save as much time as possible. This will give the best chances for quick completions so the courier can accept the next offer.
In a crew environment this is especially important, because it clears the delivery queue. With regard to quality service, the quicker the deliveries are moved, the better.
This concept is a general service goal, for most merchants, that are preparing and serving hot fresh food. Time is an important part of that delivery process. A merchant that is known for hot fresh food, especially when delivered, is in demand.
Grocery Delivery
However, there are different types of deliveries that can be accepted, when using an app. One of these is the grocery delivery. It may have a different name from app to app, but it involves groceries.
Groceries are not under the same time constraints as hot fresh food. Not even ice cold frozen, warms as fast as hot and fresh food, cools.
With that being said it is a given that grocery deliveries are more time intensive, than standard hot and fresh food deliveries. However this doesn’t mean the grocery delivery is not a good opportunity for the courier.
In fact, this is a preferred delivery type for many couriers. Furthermore, there are some couriers that only do grocery deliveries. In some cases, grocery deliveries, have greater payout potential.
Additionally, grocery deliveries are more involved at both pickup, and dopoff. This means the typical grocery delivery will be a longer duration delivery. This, in turn, means fewer deliveries for the overall shift.
And More
For this reason, couriers that prefer grocery deliveries, stick with grocery deliveries.
One of the popular delivery apps is discontinuing grocery delivery offers. For the courier that prefers this delivery type that will be a difficult change. However it is still possible to get a grocery delivery, delivered, using other delivery apps.
