The unspoken rules of the private delivery
The unspoken rules of the private delivery is an opinion piece. With this in mind, it is safe to say that strange things happen on the road. In fact, the more time spent on the road, the more strange things that do occur.
There is an age old debate among seasoned couriers about adventures on deliveries. There is a comment form at the bottom of this article. It should work with most browsers and doesn’t require any info to comment.
Furthermore, any couriers that would like to comment on interesting or adventurous deliveries, are welcome to share in the comments box after this article.
Private Delivery
The debate listed above is one that is not as adventurous as what it’s about. It’s more about if any of those adventures actually happen. In addition to this, does the courier talk about the event afterwards? For example, the courier is invited to have a beer with the dropoff location, where there is a large party.
This scenario is for the courier that is on a crew, therefore time would be an important commodity. Not only would the courier be under time constraints, but also on an employer’s time clock. That beer will have to wait till quittin’ time.
Solo couriers can partake or decline. It’s up to the individual courier. However, caution is warranted. This still doesn’t solve the debate about the adventure that happens on a delivery. Do strange things happen? Yes they do.
However they are unspoken. Except among crew mates. Private deliveries are for experienced couriers, and only then in rare cases. It’s never a good idea to go outside the app. Or beyond an employer while on their clock.
Furthermore it’s a safety consideration every time. It is possible to steer clear of costly side missions. But if the courier is going to help with some private delivery work, don’t take any wooden nickels. And stay safe out there.
