The truth about hot and fresh – Tales of the Courier
It was hot. But not fresh. Unfortunately it had to be both. 1courier checks again. Definitely hot, but nowhere near fresh. So he cancels the pickup and alerts HQ. That was the fourth one this week. Something is going to have to change, and soon. Recently, there have been too many of these cancellations. However, HQ wants this information. And HQ is going to have it too.
Ordinarily 1courier wouldn’t care too much. On to the next is the goal. If only it were that simple this time. He looks around to see if anything’s obvious. So far nothing looks out of place. He casually checks the m-com link. Then he slowly takes in the scene. He’s at a pick-up location. This is a higher end location. Furthermore, they have everything in acceptable condition. From what 1courier can see, they might be understaffed, but only just so.
With this in mind, it appears this report will be light on the description. There just isn’t anything blatantly obvious. So the cargo isn’t fresh. There would be a remake. Then the next courier will come along and complete the delivery. With hot and fresh cargo. The important thing is getting on to the next delivery. At least 1courier could get moving. He could stay fresh. And keep the flow, flowing.
The Truth About Hot and Fresh
And he can also stay here and wait for the remake of the cargo. It isn’t an option. It’s a directive from HQ. 1courier stares at the m-com link screen with an expressionless face. He is to remain here and wait for the remake. So it’s like that is it? He taps the screen with quickening fingers. Then spends the next five minutes looking for loopholes.
Soon however, he admits defeat, as the clock has already ticked away ten minutes. Therefore he studies the route to the drop-off location. A moment spent here, could save hours in real time, later. Furthermore he has already lost significant time from his early start. The sooner this drop-off is complete the better.

Finally, he sees some of the staff moving toward the front of the shop. Soon this delivery would be back on track. It’s not always a drawback to have to wait. In fact, it could mean even fresher cargo. He is still thinking about this, when they tell him it will be another ten minutes. Apparently hot and fresh were difficult to perfect. Especially simultaneously.
Tales of the Courier
The m-com link flashes. Now HQ is getting impatient too. Not only are they wanting information but also a completed delivery. 1courier begins checking for those loopholes again. Surely there is some way out of this quagmire. A few minutes later and HQ no longer cares about the detailed information. It’s about the delivery now. And the sooner it happens the better.
Minutes later, and the courier is ready. The drop-off location is also ready. In fact, they contacted HQ. Everything is set and ready. Except the cargo. It is not ready. As 1courier leaves the pickup location he thinks back to when he first arrived. The delivery was so close. He should be completing the delivery at the drop-off location. Instead, it will be hot and fresh, but on the next courier’s dispatch screen.
As for 1courier it was time to move on to a special mission. HQ is being secretive about it as well. However, it involves a robot and a rubber chicken. There’s no way he’s missing this one. 1courier floors the gas pedal, and the wheels chew into the road. Then they are off into the sunset. On to the next.
