The tracker, a new age take on an old world practice
What’s in your wallet? Better yet, what is your current location? Got milk? Location? How often do you come here? Is that your shiny new device with all the bells and whistles? How much did it cost? Was it on sale? What’s your unique identifier? OS Build number?
There’s no need to answer the questions, it’s cool. The info was already being deciphered back at the router and beyond. The tracker’s work is already done. Furthermore, the tracker is on a coffee break. Because it was done so fast. Make mine decaf. Said no tracker ever.
Delivery driving is much improved thanks to the efforts of the tracker. Not only does it assist the courier, but also the tracker informs the drop-off location, of courier location. Once upon a time, this wasn’t possible. Now everything, but the kitchen sink, can be tracked.
New Age Take
Undoubtedly, the kitchen sink can be tracked, but why? It’s more fun to track a courier! Especially if the drop-off is in a bizarre location. Furthermore, it’s possible to contact the courier and give real time directions, in case the courier is confused.
Moreover this kind of real time help is beneficial to the courier, and the drop-off customer. Because it saves time, and helps complete a delivery. It is productive.
Pro tip: Drop-off locations that include extra location instructions, have something challenging about the location. As a rule of thumb, it’s good to stay alert.
Once upon a time the courier would have to rely on the dusty trail, to pinpoint the locations of drop-offs. Perhaps a windmill, or even an old barn would be the landmark, for the destination.
Furthermore, the maps were all on some form of parchment. Also the signs functioned, as the ones in today’s world function. They were posted somewhere along the way. However, it was still the trail, that showed the way.
Old World Practice
Fast forward to the last few decades of the last century, and the trail is freeways and highways. However, the maps were still on parchment. They folded, neatly, into the glovebox of most vehicles. Similar to fast moving traffic jams.
Additionally, the tracker and the old world practice, is in almost every old Western movie. The tracker is a stranger that has the low brim hat, and the incredible senses, to spot tiny nuances in any trail.
A misplaced twig. Or, the snapped branch of the nearby tree. In fact, the tracker would find many things the common eye missed. The tracker always knew. The tracker was the guide.
The old world tracker would seek, and read clues. Leading the way to a far off place not yet mapped, or being mapped along the way. Now that’s trailblazing! It was also old school. Stay safe out there.
