The taxing delivery, is it really that important?
Deliveries are not always standard. Some deliveries fall so far away from standard they become unique. It can happen, over the course of time. Additionally it is possible for long stretches of time to happen without a hiccup in the deliveries.
With this in mind, it’s possible to tag more than a few deliveries in a short time. For example the Top Dasher designation, in the Doordash app. Not only does the courier have to hit the marks, but also has to get the numbers.
It takes a minimum of 100 deliveries in one month to be eligible for the top dasher perks. Furthermore it does take longer than a couple of days to get that many deliveries. It has more to do with hours in the day, than the speed of the courier.
Taxing Delivery
If we break it down in a more reasonable way it’s about 25 deliveries a week. If the courier is available five days a week for deliveries, that is 5 deliveries each one of those days. Or the courier could go for long days and many deliveries. The result is the same. Lots of deliveries!
With that kind of completion rates, it isn’t long before the courier will find that the deliveries are also taxing. Or in need of the same. There is a tax liability that the courier will need to address at the end of the year.
The threshold for tax consideration is six hundred dollars. This is the number that alerts the courier that income is now taxable. Anything above six hundred and the courier will need to have special forms and filing statuses at the end of the year.
Taxes are different for a self employed filing status. The courier can find many avenues of help during the tax season. Obviously it benefits the courier to consult the professionals. Moreover it is even possible to get help in an app, when filing with the app.
So, to answer the question of the taxing delivery’s importance. Yes, it is important in more ways than one! Stay safe out there.
