Furthermore, safety is a constant pursuit. Diligence is a key ingredient to maintaining a high standard of safety. In other words, stay alert. Always.
With this in mind, it’s no surprise many self defense methods, teach situational awareness. However, many couriers are just trying to make ends meet. Learning the art of war, isn’t the first thing on the agenda, for most couriers. I’ve met more than a few couriers. And this is a true statement. From my observations.

Immediately. Or it is a quick way to have a conversation with an app technical support agent. The important thing to remember is to get familiar with the things an app provides to assist in courier safety. Get to know the basics.

Knowing where to get help is important. And accessing help as quickly as possible, is a key point. A point that is important and basic. Furthermore, there are very important safety measures every solo courier should know. Likewise, there are basic steps that lead to a safer delivery. One of these is simply locking the ride when not in use. It can be tempting to just leave the ride open and unlocked. Being in a driveway feels familiar, even in a strange land. Or a nice neighborhood.
However, staying alert, is not the same as a dreamy acceptance of the familiar. Diligence is the first condition of a positive safe delivery approach. Not only is diligence important but also a necessary part of a safe delivery. Additionally there are ways the courier can stay safer in a safe zone. Contacting the drop-off location by phone or message service, before exiting the vehicle is one. Basic but effective.
