The reward delivery and the best practice effect
Reward delivery is common. It has a few different forms but it usually flows along in a predictable way. The courier arrives on time. Or early. Then the reward cargo is picked up. The courier then marks the reward cargo as picked up, and delivers it to another location.
The cargo is handled carefully. And held in an upright position. Also it is sealed in a thermal protection bag. In this way, it can maintain its temperature. Furthermore, it is treated like any other delivery. Because it is.
With this in mind, it might help to define a reward delivery. This type of delivery, is the same as any other, as far as a courier can see. It may be a lower than average offer. It may have some extra distance in travel time. Many times it shows up as a second delivery in a stack offer.
The reward delivery
Additionally, the crew courier also encounters this delivery type. It is sometimes a brand offer the merchant does for marketing. After driving on many different crews, I am able to say the reward delivery is not one of the popular ones. In fact it is about average on the popularity scale.
This reads as though the reward delivery has no positive attributes. They are there, but must be looked for. The customer appreciates the reward delivery because it is a bonus, in most cases. Money is being saved, because the delivery is free. Or, perhaps the meal is free, and there is a small delivery charge.
The reward is a bonus to the customer. However, it is a less than ideal delivery, for the courier. Most couriers know that the reward delivery is a free delivery. Furthermore, free delivery is a great way to save money. Chances are the tip will be part of the savings.
This is the thought of many couriers, as they take the delivery, that will probably not tip. Therefore, a best practice approach, is a positive way to improve those odds.
Best practice effect
Approaching the reward delivery, as though it is like any other, is the best first step. Considering a delivery tip before the delivery has been completed, is the cart before the horse. So to speak. This mindset is helpful on every delivery. Not just a reward delivery, or a special promotion delivery.
Sticking with best practices and remembering the basics is the mark of a professional courier. Tips are for the customer to think about. Not the courier. The courier needs the focus for the next delivery. Stay safe out there.
