The return delivery and the best dispatch courier
The delivery queue is a variety show. It is also a random box full of the unknown. There are times the strangest deliveries show up in the queue. Other times, when the delivery queue is quiet, there are no deliveries. Yikes.
With this in mind, there is a lot of potential for random hiccups. And just like Santa Claus, they do exist. Occasionally the hiccup, or problem, will show up in the beginning of the delivery. This is an advantage, in the sense that time can be saved early on.
If a delivery is jammed up, before it is a pickup, it’s possible to save time up front. Additionally, the courier has some flexibility here. For example, the courier arrives for the pickup. However, the merchant only just realized there was an order. Now there will be a delay, while the cargo is prepared.
The Return Delivery
This is when the courier can choose to release the delivery. Then accept the next delivery that is available in the queue. However, it may be more beneficial to wait for the current hiccup. Especially, considering the time already invested.
Still, there are other times when the delivery goes off the rails. At the drop-off location. Furthermore, it is a confusing scenario. But just like taxes, it does happen. One of the most common return deliveries I see, is the alcohol delivery. This is a result of the rules involving the alcohol delivery.
One of the top rules is there must be a valid ID to scan. Therefore there must be a meeting between the courier and the drop-off location. If the customer is unavailable, the cargo must be returned. This is not the same process for hot fresh food deliveries. When they fail at the drop-off. Ouch.
Furthermore, there is a process for the completion of each scenario. However, with the upcoming New Year’s celebrations, alcohol delivery is the topic. If there is no one to offer ID, the courier will return the cargo to the merchant. Does the drop-off customer appear drunk? Then the courier will return the cargo to the merchant.
The Best Dispatch Courier
If the courier cannot complete the alcohol delivery, the courier will return the cargo to the merchant. The good news? The app will compensate the courier with the original offer. Additionally, the courier receives a fee for the return.
This describes one delivery app’s process for the return delivery. It is a simple process. Once the courier has initiated it, just follow the steps, for the return. It is important to remember that once the process is started, there is no stopping it. The alcohol will have to be returned to the merchant.
Even if the customer suddenly becomes available. Even one minute after the courier initiates the return, it is too late. The return must happen. Yes, I did have a long talk with an agent. On a return delivery. The customer suddenly became available. After I initiated the return. Stay safe out there.
