The organized delivery stack and the best reminders
An organized delivery is an accurate delivery. This might seem like a given, however there is a bit more to it than that. Delivery work is straightforward work, most of the time. For example there is a process, and it repeats itself. The more times a courier can repeat the process in an hour the better.
With this in mind, more runs per hour, must mean the stack. Or multiple deliveries in one trip. Indeed, string a few of these together, and the earnings improve dramatically. Or they should. In fact, this is one way the courier can balance the not so great drop-offs.
The organized delivery
However, speaking of balance, there is another balancing act that must be monitored. Yes, it is definitely not doughnuts. It is delivery accuracy. This is sometimes easier said than done. For example, in a crew environment, it is a practiced process. For the solo courier, using a delivery app, it is a part of the job.
The organized delivery stack is about the accuracy of the entire trip. Especially each step along the way to the multi-delivery completion. Similarly, making sure that the correct drop-off reaches the correct address. It may seem redundant to emphasize so much double checking. However, in a rush, everything changes.
With so much activity happening all at once, it is easy to overlook…almost anything. Therefore, being mindful in moments of high activity, is key. Sometimes this might be as simple as keeping multiple orders separated. In this way, one doesn’t get confused with the other.
Poof Instant Chaos
Although this may sound like a routine procedure, it can get tedious on larger orders. Combine a few of those large orders, into the available space in the ride, and poof, instant chaos. Having heat bags and drink carriers is a best practice. Not only do they help maintain peak cargo temperatures, but also organization, and space saving.
Lastly, some delivery apps have reminders and checklists just before the actual drop-off. These are helpful when used with the double check technique. Catching something before it becomes the ‘missed item’, makes for an accurate completion. It’s also another courier best practice. Stay safe out there.
