The low mileage delivery and the best of short hops
One thing about courier work, stay with it long enough and a delivery style will evolve. It happens somewhere along the way. Additionally, it happens to every courier. Somewhere between, jammed up waiting at a merchant location, and stuck in a stalled traffic jam on a six lane highway.
Usually, the gas tank gauge shows empty when the traffic jam parking lot shows up. Talk about sweating buckets in January. That will give the courier a severe case of the nerves. Not only is the delivery being delayed, but also it may not arrive at all.
The low mileage delivery
High mileage deliveries have more than a few drawbacks. They come with many chances for possible delays, detours and slow downs. Furthermore, the courier that does well with high mileage deliveries, most definitely knows the delivery area. However, not every delivery is a high mileage delivery. In fact, there are just as many low mileage deliveries.
With this in mind, it tends to flow back to that delivery style thing, when the courier prefers the short hops. Or, the low mileage delivery. This delivery style has its ups and downs. However, for some couriers, it is the one that works best.
The idea is simple. Very few miles traveled, for the deliveries accepted. This strategy is great for the courier trying to save resources. However, less miles traveled, also means less money offered, in some cases. This is not the same for the crew courier. However, that comparison is for a future article.
The low mileage delivery also affords the courier a chance at multiple deliveries per hour. Similarly the courier remains close to the core of the selected zone. This is another advantage of the low mileage delivery. Fewer zone transfers. As well as less time spent traveling back from the faraway drop-off locations.
Earnings potential
The concept is about the saving of time and resources. Furthermore, the courier will be able to boost certain stats with this approach. It’s also possible to use this technique along with high mileage deliveries, for a varied earnings advantage. Stay safe out there.
