The hope for queue reviews, and good safety news
So, ever been cruising along, and from out of nowhere it happens? It could be anything that is from out of nowhere, and it’s happening, during a better than average drive. When this type of event takes place it can be unsettling.
Some examples of this unsettling are everything from sheer fright to absolute delight. A deer jumping in front of the ride, and narrowly avoiding the collision, is a specific experience I’ve had on several occasions. It will get the adrenilin going.
Also it comes from out of nowhere. Or, it seems like it is from out of nowhere. The better than average drive, with no distractions, has a lulling effect sometimes. Next thing the courier knows, there’s a grinning cheshire cat, and a rabbit that can’t be late.
Good Safety News
That is why good safety news is always welcome! Doordash has begun to roll out more safety measures for couriers. Additional light at a night delivery, is a positive bonus! Reminders from the app to the dropoff for porch light assistance is spot on!
Any additional light on night deliveries is always welcome. Furthermore, it is an additional clue that the courier is in the right location. Porch lights also illuminate house numbers, that are attached to the house.
The courier can use these different elements to locate the drop off, and complete the delivery. Safely! Also in a timely manner, and still in some cases, with no contact on delivery.
The good news is the courier can complete the steps and get the cargo safely offloaded. Then with a quick pic, be on the way to the next. As always reading the details and special instructions are essential to accurate deliveries.
Queue Reviews
Finally, queue reviews? Is there such a thing as being able to see the queue once an offer has passed? Until recently I would have said no, however it looks as though Ubereats is trying something with being able to view the queue, and the available deliveries, that have been rejected, or are otherwise still being offered.
Having had only a few deliveries to work with this new feature, I wasn’t able to get much intel. It came from out of nowhere. However it is a new feature, and based on what I was able to work with, it has potential. I look forward to the next encounter, for more information. It appears to happen during the rush hours, so stay tuned, and stay safe out there.
