The holiday dinner delivery and the challenge of the rush

The holiday dinner delivery and the challenge of the rush

There are few times when a delivery rush is more intense, than on a holiday. In fact, some of the most busy delivery days are holidays. Once upon a time holiday delivery was limited to participating merchants. Which usually meant pizza. Then delivery apps began to change the nature of at home delivery. And the holidays became better opportunities for delivery drivers.

Experienced couriers know holiday deliveries are a positive earnings event. However, not every holiday, is built the same. Some holidays have a different delivery demand than others. Experienced couriers are able to make this distinction. For example, the Christmas holiday is actually a very busy delivery day. For at home delivery. However, it is influenced by the participating merchants. In other words the open merchants.

The holiday dinner delivery is one of the more important deliveries. And many customers expect to tip well for a holiday delivery. Especially those who remember when everything used to be closed on a holiday. Similarly, there are holidays that are delivery gems. For example, Mother’s day, or Valentine’s day. These two holidays are a delivery demand challenge. Especially for the experienced courier.

    The Holiday Dinner Delivery

It’s a challenging rush on the busy holidays. When delivery demand is so intense the courier has no down time between deliveries. That is the essence of the holiday dinner delivery. Furthermore, the intensity of the demand can last the entire holiday.

Couriers working these holidays have one thing in common. They start early. This is an approach that gives the courier maximum opportunity. Many a delivery rush begins in an unassuming way. And then, within a short amount of time, grows exponentially. This is how a holiday delivery rush becomes a challenge.

However, most couriers dig in, and push through the intensity. All while maintaining a keen focus on delivery accuracy and timeliness. Particularly on the high delivery intensity holiday. From lunch until the late night delivery. The holiday dinner delivery is also a delivery event. In other words, couriers who look to work the evening shift only, will still see the intensity of the dinner rush. Stay safe out there.
