The Frog and the Princess – Villains and Hope
Some time has passed since we last saw our friend, the frog. He’s still a frog, jumpy legs and all, still with that strange taste in food. He dreams big, loves hard, and still has it bad. For a Princess. The Princess. He hops from place to place and does his frog business, but make no mistake, all he thinks about is the Princess, and how much he loves her.
They are not happily ever after. In fact, our friend the frog, is having trouble with a happily at the beginning. It’s a frog thing. Anything that’s a frog thing, is unpredictable and twice as sticky. And she is beauty and grace personified, she is kindness and she is lovely…so very lovely. He trembles, even when he sees her profile pic on flipper book.
It isn’t hard to imagine how this frog was feeling. Quite smitten and deeply affected. So he gathered his frog courage, and made an attempt to express himself to the Princess. Goodness No! I said express himself, not expose himself. Though he might as well have, for how bad he flopped.
The frog was able to see the Princess’s profile on flipper book, along with the rest of the kingdom. He loved to see and appreciate all the wonderful gifts of the Princess. It quite made his day, every day. He would marvel at her creativity, and feel so inspired by her passion and always ache for more. He hopped at everything that was the Princess.
Villains
And one day, when he could contain his love for her no more, he decided to let it show for her. He’s a frog. He knows the risk he’s taking. But his love for the Princess had grown beyond the confines of his frog chest, and he was compelled. By his heart. So things got sticky.
He hopped boldly to the highest wall surrounding the great castle, and from there a quick leap to the concourse. He had boldly placed himself where he would not be missed by the Princess as she walked by. (he’s a frog- dreams big, remember?) He prepared to sing his greatest song, hoping it might bring her some happiness, for all that she had given him.
The moment arrived, and the frog was spellbound, as the beauty of the Princess filled his senses and overtook his being. She was always grace and poise, but to experience her magic and charm so close, and for real, was a rush of joy so great, the frog forgot to breathe. So it was, that when he opened his frog mouth to sing, only a large awkward ribbit croak, emerged.
The court of the castle and all the royals of the kingdom heard, and as the frog realized with horror, so had the Princess. The royal guard moved in fast to protect the lovely Princess. As She was escorted away in a rush, the frog tried to sing again, this time without blemish. But it was too late, the notes fell flat, as did the frog.
Hope
But wait, what’s that there? Did he see? Was it real, or did he imagine, the small, enticing smile, and her lovely eyes holding him for a nano second? Hard to say through the cartwheels, as he was flung back into the pond by one of the guard.
Days pass and nights too, our friend the frog was feeling blue. He loved the Princess still and even more, because it was love, you see, it had begun to grow. Why and how, even where or when, was not even tenth on his mind. Only thoughts of her, and longing to be somewhere near. He thought of her, and felt his heart jump for joy. Lovely thoughts of her, and all fell away. He couldn’t stop thinking about her.
The kingdom is lovely and shines with great light, it’s because of the Princess and her spirit, that this place glows. She is amazing, which barely covers the truth, in fact she’s fantastic, comely, gorgeous, dreamy, sensational, and even more, but the point is the same. The frog loves the Princess, and must up his game.
What could a frog do? What could love do? And what of the villains mentioned above? Well, that frog flinging guard was one, though he was only protecting the Lady, which soothed the frog some. As for the frog in love, and the Princess, his only desire? We will have to see. He’s a frog, he ain’t giving up easily.
