The Frog and the Princess
Yo driver! What a day to run! Real struggle today, my favorite kind! Welcome back, and thank you if you’ve read more than one of these posts. I’m moving in an unusual direction with this one, bear with me if you will. This tangent is purposeful, and some may find it strange. It’s about the frog and the Princess.
He’s just a frog. You know he’s a frog, because he has the jumpy legs, and that strange taste in food. Also he does frog stuff all the time, like jumping from place to place, and getting slimy, and being ugly. He’s a crazy frog too, dreams big, loves hard, still makes wishes too.
You guessed it, one day he totally fell for this princess. Ah, yes, and if you knew of this Princess, you would immediately know why. She was beauty and grace, with more loveliness than can be described with frog words. He couldn’t help it, she could take his breath away at will. She, of course, had no idea that this frog was there, and totally enthralled with her in every way. He was just a frog, he reminded himself.
A true dilemma. Somehow this frog got it in his frog head, that he belonged with the Princess. He’s just a frog, there’s no understanding frog logic sometimes. He just knew it was so. As though it had been written somewhere. He couldn’t explain it, it was the first time in his frog life, that this had happened.
The Princess lived in a beautiful castle that she had chosen for it’s majesty and charm. The castle thrived with the love, and wonderful talents of the Princess, the gardens and courts of the castle were also graced by the lovely attentions of the Princess. She was magical in every way.
And that was only what the frog had been blessed to see, from his pad on the pond. He knew there was a universe of beauty and mystery and loveliness, that would take a lifetime to know about the Princess, and there would still be more; how fortunate one would be to be beside her. How blessed to hear her voice, in whisper or song, or even a sigh. The frog has it bad.
This is where it gets interesting. And where I’ll pause for now. I’ll finish the story in the next post. Until then: Here for you, superstar.
