The frack delivery and how to avoid it
Delivery driving has come a long way since the days of wall maps. Once upon a time, the courier would scout the map, and write down the important clues. Then the courier would use a series of old school techniques to find the drop-off location.
It should be noted, in those days, it was considered standard to search and find. The wall map was usually the last map the courier would see before leaving to complete the delivery. Furthermore, it was unlikely the courier would have a fancy, easy fold map, for the glove box.
This meant memorizing and writing down details. Additionally the courier had to stay alert for street names and road signs. Then when close, carefully observe, the individual numbers while locating the correct address. The only way to call the drop-off location was from the payphone on the corner.
Obviously delivery driving has come a long way since its early days. Furthermore it encompasses a much broader spectrum of cargo. -Also, the payphone on the corner, is only in old movies now.
The frack delivery
During a good rush, there is a lot of activity to track. Not only is the courier working on details but also forward thinking to the next opportunity. It is important to be focused and make the completion as quickly as possible. The courier makes money from completions, the more the better.
With this in mind, the amount of activity in front of the courier at any given time is intense. This is when the frack delivery is most likely. Experienced couriers, will have different examples of the frack delivery, but they all come to the same. The frack delivery is that moment when the courier discovers a hidden dilemma. It’s a what the frack moment.
These will happen in a rush most often. For example the courier has a delivery, and is on the way to the merchant, and receives an additional offer. Everything seems okay, except for the missing detail, of the additional mileage. This is a possible frack delivery, without those details.
In fact, the details of a delivery are extra important to the bottom line. When the courier takes a risk on missing details, the courier also takes a risk on the bottom line. Be it glitch, oversight or under sight, don’t risk it, if it doesn’t add up right. Stay safe out there.
