The forbidden phrase every courier needs for better earnings.
Cover your ears if you don’t want to hear this most unspeakable phrase. It may not be the top offender. In fact, it’s likely not in the top five. Even if it’s not on the list of top twenty forbidden phrases, it’s still considered problematic. In fact, it seemed interesting to see what would come up when researching the phrase. It did not disappoint. However, before we start pointing out possible AI hallucinations, it might help to add some context.
The good news is that there are still two sides to every story. Furthermore, just because something is considered forbidden, doesn’t mean it can’t be helpful. In fact, that is more than just a play on words. History has many examples of something forbidden becoming something familiar. Of course, these days it seems like there are just as many examples of the familiar, becoming something unrecognizable.

Maybe that’s why this horrific phrase is so problematic. It’s innocent, but oh so true. These days that’s enough to earn a label of forbidden. In fact, it’s almost enough to get something banned altogether. Even if it’s a misunderstanding. However, no matter the popular opinion, it’s tough to go wrong with a strong work ethic. No matter how problematic it might be to an AI, the at home delivery customer appreciates a strong work ethic every time.
The Forbidden Phrase
Your delivery will be seventeen minutes late. This message does not usually show up in the delivery app. And there’s more than one reason why. The courier doesn’t need to know all the reasons why a certain message isn’t a part of the delivery app. In fact, many couriers are interested in as few communications as possible during the delivery process. And it isn’t about being standoffish. Sometimes it’s about fighting with traffic. Or listening for that little noise under the ride. The one that just started a day ago.
Couriers often juggle multiple communication streams at the same time. This is especially true on stacked deliveries. The at home customer is not aware the courier will be making additional drop-offs on the way to their drop-off. With this in mind, one of the first things to happen is the check in message. This is the one where the anxious at-home customer checks in to make sure the courier isn’t lost. In most cases, it’s just curiosity. In other cases, the at home customer has a legitimate concern. Perhaps they live in a particularly remote area. Or maybe they have no identifying house numbers.

Whatever the situation, the courier’s deviation from the direct approach, caught some attention in the tracker. And while it’s only a courier with a positive (forbidden phrase alert) work ethic, it is better to be safe than sorry. The stacked delivery doesn’t let up until the last drop-off. A courier with multiple drop-offs to complete, has the perspective of hustle. It takes a developed work ethic to consistently complete stacked deliveries.
Better Earnings
Every courier wants better earnings. In fact, that’s one of the reasons a courier will accept stacked deliveries. More opportunities in a shorter amount of time. Anytime the courier combines more deliveries into fewer trips, it will maximize earnings. Although it may sound counterproductive, the right stack combination is a bonus for the courier. However, the stacked delivery relies heavily on accurate timing.
In a stacked delivery, one pickup can go as planned and the other can stall. A stalled delivery pick up, is not uncommon. In fact, it happens often. Unfortunately this creates a slow down for the delivery pickup that was ready on time. If the courier is running a triple stack, the stall on one delivery, has three in jeopardy. It takes a solid work ethic to keep three separate deliveries, on track. Furthermore the only pressure coming from the work ethic is the effort.
The effort is a choice made by the courier. Furthermore, a stacked delivery is the epitome of working smarter, not harder. The idea of working smarter, not harder, is the cornerstone of a developed work ethic. It’s one of the ways to get more done, with less resources, in less time. However, it’s about quality over quantity regardless of circumstance. That explains why it’s a work ethic. But not why it’s forbidden.
The Forbidden Phrase for Better Earnings
It comes down to hustle and effort. And sometimes there’s a little luck involved. Nevertheless, the secret of the forbidden phrase is the hustle. It takes hustle and dedication, with a healthy dose of effort. It starts at the queue when the courier first accepts a delivery offer. And it doesn’t end until the courier is looking at the drop-off location in the rear view mirror. Whether it’s a large grocery order, or an alcohol order. The hustle and effort the courier puts forth, is about the next delivery offer.

It’s the next delivery that monopolizes the focus. The current delivery is on autopilot. Once complete, the courier finalizes the details of the current pickup. Then the new delivery is back on autopilot. During a busy weekend rush this process can become a large amount of delivery completions, in a short amount of time. This is when the courier’s earning potential improves dramatically. All it takes is the hustle. And the effort. It doesn’t hurt to show up as well. All of this combines to help create a powerful, courier work ethic.
And a powerful work ethic, is one of the most important tools in the courier tool kit. It takes a lot of hustle to keep the wheels turning. Furthermore, it takes persistence, and patience, to create a high level of follow through. This is one of the marks of top notch professionalism, and it’s what the best delivery experience is all about. Stay safe out there.
