The easy alcohol delivery tip for a safety boost
Every once in a while a delivery doesn’t go as planned. Then there are the times when a delivery goes off the rails altogether. From the moment a courier accepts a delivery offer, to the moment of drop-off, there is a process. A step by step process that brings about a delivery completion. For the crew courier this is a matter of training. Additionally, the crew courier has a limited delivery inventory.
Similarly, the parcel courier has a limit. It is with the type of cargo the courier picks up. With this in mind, many couriers specialize in a particular type of delivery cargo. Therefore, the delivery process is straightforward and predictable. The courier is familiar with each step in the process. And once the delivery is complete it’s right on to the next.
The type of courier is important, because some deliveries are for a particular kind of courier. For example, the at home alcohol delivery. This type of delivery requires a delivery app, and a solo courier. The courier is driving delivery for the app. Therefore, the app has a method for the alcohol delivery. Furthermore, the alcohol delivery is more involved and has more steps to complete, than a standard delivery.
The Easy Alcohol Delivery
The standard delivery, is not as involved as the alcohol delivery. Indeed, the process for delivering alcohol is in depth, and conditional. As mentioned previously, there are steps to complete before the alcohol can be handed to the delivery customer. In fact, if the customer is noticeably inebriated, the delivery cannot take place.
Furthermore, if there is not a valid ID, the delivery cannot take place. This includes expired ID. And then there is the condition that no one is available to accept the delivery. All of which can mean that the delivery cannot take place. This is the standard practice for alcohol delivery through an app. The rub is that the courier is left holding the bag. Literally.
This is also when the at home customer is most likely to be upset about the no go delivery. There can be arguments and harsh words. And a menacing atmosphere, when an alcohol delivery gets sideways. Many delivery customers do not know the app must have all the steps met, in order to complete the delivery. In other words, without valid ID, the delivery cannot happen.
Tip for a Safety Boost
Clearing the steps in the delivery app has to be first. The main one being the scanning of the ID. Furthermore, in order to hand over the alcohol, the ID cannot be expired. However, it is not easy to explain to the now unhappy person, who just got denied their happy time. Especially while standing at their front door. Holding the alcohol/happy time.
A happy customer (with an expired ID) can become the villain in a split second. To be so close to the delivery, only to see it removed, can trigger different reactions. All of which are more complicated to handle with an armload of alcohol. Therefore, leaving the alcohol in the vehicle until after the ID has been verified, is recommended. In this way, the courier has one less detail to handle, while completing the delivery steps.
Additionally, the courier will have a buffer if there is an ID issue. Or a sobriety issue. Especially if it feels like it could go sideways. Being able to use the car as a retreat helps clear the courier from the scene. Once inside the ride, the courier can drive to a safe place. Then follow the steps in the app, for returning the alcohol to the vendor. As always a mindful approach is an effective way to safely complete the alcohol delivery. Stay safe out there.
