The early delivery is better for day shift couriers
A day shift courier has a unique position. The day shift courier experiences a different kind of delivery rush. The circumstances in a routine day delivery, are almost the opposite of the night delivery experience. Which is not to discount the challenges encountered in the usual night delivery.
Perhaps if the differences were not night and day, the comparison would be less extreme. However, a day delivery as a crew courier, has several different elements. Especially when compared to the night delivery. One of these differences is traffic. Or the lack of traffic in a night delivery. Day deliveries are all about traffic. Depending on the size of the city, the traffic can last until well after rush hour.
The Early Delivery
With this in mind, it can be said that the day shift courier has unique challenges. Particularly when compared to night delivery. One of these is trying to balance good ratings with increased traffic. And decreased flow. The arrival time in the app doesn’t care about the lagging red light, located on, takes too long, boulevard. It will still mark the courier as late. The crew courier has the same concern.
The quoted delivery times, usually have no allowance for traffic issues. Particularly those that happen randomly. Additionally, this is how a successful day shift courier stays ahead. An eye in the sky. So to speak. The successful day shift courier makes it a routine to have up to the minute traffic information. Furthermore, the day shift courier maintains an alert disposition. Particularly in high stress situations. Like traffic.
Therefore the idea of the early delivery is multi-faceted. All of the characteristics are as described above. However, there is another aspect of the early delivery. It is the idea of the deliveries that happen before traffic becomes an issue. For example, mid morning deliveries. They happen just after the morning rush, and just before the lunch rush.
