The disappearing money, where did that tip go?
In the course of running deliveries, the courier will get sidetracked. For those who don’t know about being sidetracked, it’s a matter of time. However, it still happens, and avoiding it is unlikely. Furthermore the courier is a good place to catch a quick savings deal.
While it is counter productive to examine the no tip scenario, it is still an event that happens. Taking a look at the circumstances can help in preparing for the loss. In this way it becomes merely a bump in the road.
Furthermore completing deliveries in an app is different from crew deliveries. There are unknowns with both delivery options. Moreover it’s a different set of unknowns, with both. With this in mind, things are not as bad as they were in the early days of hot fresh food delivery.
A courier that delivers with a crew is delivering in good faith. Most everything is routine and static with a merchant crew. Routes are known, and common, and the repeat customer is the norm. In most cases the courier has no idea about the tip until after leaving the customer location.
Disappearing money
Tipping is optional, not a requirement. The regular customer has a system and it might include a budgeted delivery that does not include a tip. It happens, and is part of the job. The courier relies on the deliveries, that tip better than average, to cover the no tip deliveries.
With this in mind, it is possible to know ahead of time, if there is a tip on a delivery app offer. The courier has the choice, and can see details of the entire offer. In most cases it is what it is. This is when the courier knows the outcome of the work and its payout.
In most deliveries. Some deliveries have a surprise, and end up being better than expected. Not only does the courier get the agreed upon offer, but also a bonus tip at the end. So, just because an offer looks bad on the surface doesn’t always mean it is.
Have you ever delivered and gotten no tip? Ever agree to an offer, and then have it changed after the delivery? These are the scenarios that are difficult for the courier to absorb. Furthermore, accepting an offer in an app should be a binding agreement. What happens when there is a discrepancy in the numbers?
Equally important are the results the courier can hope to achieve in earnings. This is a link to a short 30 second quiz on the Virtual Dispatch.
