The Dark Delivery and How to Survive It
It’s been a long day of driving. The night has fallen, and the last run is on the dispatch board. One more, then some down time.
The last run is the one that can make the day. This is the one that brings all the rest into positive territory! A nightcap of the prosperous kind!
Once the offer is on the board and accepted, it’s time to do the work. Then, the unthinkable happens. The one thing a courier dreads above all else, has occurred.
A dark delivery has been added to the queue.

They don’t happen often, which is a good thing. When they do happen, it’s disconcerting and unsettling. Yet the job must be completed.
The courier must maintain a level of professionalism, and sally forth, to complete this challenging delivery.
Once accepted, there is no turning back. All bets are off, and there is only one path forward.

The dark delivery has been accepted, now all that matters, is how to survive it.
The road to the drop off is the challenge after accepting this daunting delivery! The odds are good that there will be some hocus pocus, but the show must go on! The cargo must be delivered!
It is a safe bet that the offer is legit if it has come into the queue. Accepting it, is the same as accepting any other offer.
How to survive
While it’s true that aurors typically handle these types of events, this one is a bit more on the level of a courier. The world conquering can continue, after the drop off!
It is still unsettling to have cargo for such a notorious drop off. A courier has very little in the way of magical means. Making the dark delivery, in a timely manner, is the best way to stay ahead of the curse, the curve.
While it is daunting to have such an important and special drop off client, one can’t help but wonder, what pizza a dark lord might order.
What a surprise, and what an interesting selection! The pizza is a fine choice, and will be an excellent dinner, when delivered on time!
As always, safety is a top concern for couriers, no matter the recipient, or the drop off location.
While it is fun to deliver to prominent figures, it’s important to stay focused, and be diligent, in safely completing the drop off! Stay safe out there!
