The best stack basics for a chance at better earnings
A chance at better earnings. This is one benefit that is always welcome for the courier. It can be said couriers are in a unique position. As a courier, it is possible to increase efforts. And then see a positive impact on overall pay. This article covers some of the best stack basics.
With this in mind there are many ways a courier can improve the delivery experience. From punctuality to mindfulness, the possibilities for an improved experience are there. Each time the courier goes the extra mile it is a benefit to everyone. Including the courier.
Furthermore, there is a distinct difference between the crew courier and the solo courier. Merchant benefits notwithstanding, the selection of deliveries is not similar. The methods are not the same.
The best stack basics
For example, the solo courier completing deliveries for an app can be selective. Furthermore, the solo courier can reject a delivery offer that isn’t beneficial. Then accept the very next offer. Or reject.
The crew courier must accept the next available run. Especially if that same courier is the next courier in line.
This is not always the case for the stacked delivery. A stacked delivery is often about opportunity. For the merchant or app, it is an opportunity to get more work done using less resources. For the courier, it’s an opportunity to get more pay using less resources.
There is even a benefit to the drop off location. Reduced waiting time for a delivery is always a nice benefit. Stacks or doubled deliveries are an advantage to just about everyone. However, there are occasions that the stack is not a benefit. Some combinations of routes and drop-off locations, do not make logistical sense. Indeed.
This is when the solo courier must be diligent. And pay close attention to the details of an offer from the queue. In the rush of activity, it is easy to miss important details. Furthermore, the offer is likely happening while the courier is moving. Stack offers are usually straightforward. Usually.
The offer screen will have the amount of pay offered for the delivery. As well as the mileage from pick-up to drop-off. Or the additional mileage. And lastly, the name of the merchant. It’s the additional mileage, that matters on stack offers. In some cases, it can be a loss in more ways than just money. Such as time.
A chance at better earnings
In many offers the courier will see an exact match of a dollar for each additional mile. For example, four extra miles is the offer request, and four dollars is the delivery offer. A quick and closer look may reveal the extra four miles are up the side of a mountain. If the courier already has a delivery that is three miles, the extra four miles will push the total miles to seven. For four bucks. Respectively.
The initial delivery is a regular offer, fair pay for fair mileage. The stack offer was a significantly smaller offer for a complete delivery. However the mileage was the same, if not more, than the original delivery. Not only is this an increase in time commitment but also it’s resource intensive. For less pay. For the courier.
The queue relies on the courier to add the offer numbers together. Then hit yes for the bigger number. Now the courier will be thinking about a big number for the pocket. Not so much about big numbers coming out of the pocket. Staying alert and looking at the whole delivery offer, will benefit the courier. More on this in upcoming articles. Stay safe out there.
