The best of the road, courier travels
The road is long. It is also winding and curvy. Sometimes there are potholes. Another thing about the road, it goes on. These are some attributes of the road. There are many more. One that stands out however, is the adventure of the road.
Roads have been around for a long time. They were definitely around before cars. They are mentioned in history books as far back as the pyramids. Maybe even further, but the point is the same, roads are old.
With this in mind, it’s easy to see the travel and adventure connection of the road. Furthermore, all roads lead somewhere, and that is a good way to start any adventure. Courier travels are varied and occasionally far away. Hence the adventure.
Courier Travels
When the delivery apps were just beginning to come on the scene, the concept of a static delivery area was still the norm. Couriers could travel hundreds of miles and never leave the city limits. There were plenty of miles to be driven even with a fixed zone.
Furthermore, it became easy to memorize a zone through repetitive driving. In a crew environment this is the norm. It is possible for the courier to strategically plan doubles and triples (stacks) to efficiently make completions. Through repetition.
Enter the age of the apps, and the solo courier. Deliveries were still the same, but the delivery area was less static. Therefore, the concept of familiar routes ceased to be an advantage. Routes must be considered in the briefest of ways, when the offer is in a delivery app.
The courier that isn’t watching the mileage, is potentially missing cues. With this in mind, the courier is free to choose delivery offers that have any amount of mileage. Additional miles are not as time consuming as they sound.
In the right circumstances the mileage is acceptable if excessive. (The right circumstance=good pay) It is not uncommon for a drop-off location, located far away, to be very appreciative of the courier’s time and efforts. Not only does this help cover the miles, but also the time traveling.
Aligning safe travel, with courier travels, is a bonus for the courier. Safety is goal number one for the courier. When all these elements are together, it is more likely to see the best of the road during courier travels. Stay safe out there.
