The best food delivery app
The food delivery app has become a feature in everyday life. Though it had humble beginnings. However, the concept of using an app to order a delivery, quickly caught on. It became a matter of convenience, as well as a way to tap into an entirely untapped market. Delivery variety.
Delivery variety means hamburgers are now in play. Or maybe Sushi is the craving for today. Whatever the case may be, having something other than pizza to choose from, was one of the reasons the food delivery app became so popular so fast. Furthermore, there was no shortage of available delivery drivers.
With this in mind, the timing of the food delivery app was important. The first ones were basic, and didn’t include many merchants. Now, there’s been time to use the delivery apps, and fine tune them. Furthermore, more merchants than ever are using the food delivery app to reach more customers. This has been an ever increasing benefit for the solo courier.
The Best Food Delivery App
This has also created a unique kind of conversation among couriers. It happens in the long moments of wait time. Wait time, is kryptonite, for the courier. The moment there is a wait, the courier becomes immobilized. This is a very uncomfortable state for the courier. Therefore, a little conversation helps. Sometimes.
It’s usually the same questions too.
“You waitin’ for a delivery?”
“Yeah, you?”
“Yeah.” (Long pause.)
“So, which app are you using?”
And it goes from there. Usually the app is declared. Then follows a brief discussion about which parts of the app need work. If there is a longer wait time, the courier has probably turned into a skeleton from the delay. If not there will be a quick debate on which app is better. Spoiler alert. No app ever wins.
Courier discussions don’t go like that. It’s all about the money/time. Likewise, it is a given, that the discussion will be quick. Then the courier is off, and running. Therefore, information has to be passed quickly. The most relevant info is the key. For example, wait times and quality of payouts. Ratings and, yes, unreasonable ratings as well. It’s about passing the most relevant info, first and foremost.
Food Delivery
These days (and depending on the area) there are mainly two delivery apps. These are apps that have been around for a long while. Therefore, they are trusted. Additionally these two, are the only food delivery apps being compared in every discussion I have witnessed, or participated in. There are other food delivery apps. Some are older, and some are new. But only a small handful are trusted, tried, and reliable.
Reliable is a critical component in a food delivery app. The courier places trust in the app, and the process. Furthermore, the payouts are another element that must be included in the reliability of a food delivery app. Nothing says oh sh*t like running out of gas in the boondocks. Therefore, real world usability matters, in the overall rating of a food delivery app. From the courier’s perspective.
The intent of this article isn’t to recommend one app over another. Future articles will break down the differences between the apps. There are differences and they matter depending on the type of delivery the courier prefers. More on that in upcoming articles. Until then, stay safe out there.
