The best delivery and why it’s not the fastest one

The best delivery and why it’s not the fastest one

It’s not the fastest one. Sometimes the fast delivery is just that. A fast delivery. It has no distinguishing attributes, other than speed. It moves in a strict linear flow. Accept the offer, pickup the cargo, drop-off the cargo. Repeat. In fact, repeat as fast as possible, and for as many times as possible. Besides, a fast delivery is what every customer wants. Get the hot fresh food delivered ASAP.

The only problem is this isn’t an accurate description, of the best delivery. Furthermore, some deliveries actually suffer, when the focus is only on speed. For example, the little details. They are a big deal to an at home customer. And they are exceedingly easy to miss for the over zealous courier. When the flow of a delivery is only about the speed, the quality of the delivery, plummets.

With this in mind, experienced couriers know this is a game of give and take. And the first way to give a little extra on a delivery, is to personalize it. Sure, it is easier to move fast, and just get the work done. However, an appreciated customer, is often a more generous customer. Especially one that knows the courier sees their special requests.

    The Best Delivery

Hot fresh food is delicious. Furthermore it goes great with a cold beverage. Forgot the cold beverage? Yes it matters. In fact, it’s right there in the app. Just under all those little flashing alerts that say don’t forget the cold beverage. However, the delivery was fast. Just not accurate. And what was the customer’s name again?

    best delivery

These are basic things when personalizing a delivery. A quick message just after accepting the offer, or when arriving at the pick-up, goes a long way. Additionally, a few moments to go over the contents of the order, is a critical step in ensuring the accuracy of the delivery. For example, the number of items the courier should have from the merchant.

Things like beverages, or deserts. And dinnerware, as well as napkins. All are important things for the courier delivering hot fresh food. Actually having all the hot fresh food in a delivery, is an important measure of quality. The same as beverages, or side items. This is one reason why the accurate delivery, out performs the fastest delivery.

    It’s Not the Fastest One

Since the early days of at home delivery, much emphasis has been placed on speedy delivery. There was even a time when a delivery was guaranteed in thirty minutes or less. However, couriers were dropping transmissions left and right trying to meet the deadline. This is also speculation, but there is a reason why they stopped the guaranteed delivery window.

It wasn’t that effective. Just dangerous. Additionally, people were not too impressed either way. The entire concept of at-home delivery was still so new the novelty alone made it worthwhile. Furthermore, it started with pizza. Domino’s Pizza. (Early 1970’s) Stay safe out there.
