The 3 rules a courier never breaks

The 3 rules a courier never breaks

It is possible there are not enough rules. In fact it is also possible to make more rules. Sometimes this is done by entire countries. Other times it might be the work of a smaller entity such as a company or organization.

With this in mind, the courier also has rules. There are not many. Furthermore, the courier has more interest in dough than rules. As a rule, dough is a lot more flexible than rules. One of the top reasons to be a courier, is the freedom of the open road.

Not only the freedom of the open road, but also the autonomy of being a company of one. The solo courier. Attention to detail and mindfulness, are important skills for the courier. However they are far from rules.

The courier is free to be sloppy, or attentive, in a delivery completion. Additionally, the courier can choose to drop the delivery altogether. These are things that have no rules attached.

    3 Rules

Furthermore, the courier job description, is more about best practices. However, there are 3 rules the courier never breaks. Not only are they important but also they matter for the sake of safety. Rather than list them in an ordered and impersonal list, I have decided to list them one at a time with an individual breakdown of each.

Rule number one. No entry to personal dwellings. Except for the most extreme situations, the courier should not enter a personal dwelling of a drop-off location. There is an abundance of reasons why, however, the best one is personal safety.

Rule number two. Never leave the ride running or unlocked when out of sight. It takes about half a second for a bad actor to bust up a ride looking for loot. Furthermore, the temptation from an unattended and running vehicle, can be too much for some bad actors.

Rule number three. The courier does not open cargo. Example: Cargo is at the pickup location waiting for the courier. It has been packaged by the merchant. Moreover it is sealed for heat retention and freshness. Whether all of the items are in the package, is between merchant and drop-off location. Respectively.

    Courier

The courier does not open sealed cargo. Furthermore the cargo condition is between merchant and customer. The courier delivers the whole package. Safe and in pristine condition. Unopened. Every time.

Couriers benefit from a solid work ethic and good hustle. Similarly, the customer benefits because the courier makes a good delivery completion.

Ultimately, completing deliveries is customer service. Therefore, customers benefit from the three rules a courier never breaks. Stay safe out there.
