Thanksgiving delivery, a new twist on an old tradition
Happy Thanksgiving! The big day is finally here. It comes once a year, and it is one of the most family centered holidays of the year. It is also becoming one of the busier delivery holidays. With the help of the delivery app, and participating merchants, there are quite a few delivery choices.
Many will be celebrating the spirit of Thanksgiving by cooking at home. However, others will not. More than a few will be searching for a delivery at some point in the day. Whether it be a personal delivery, or something for the family, the Thanksgiving delivery will be in demand.
With this in mind, many merchants have created deals and special hours for the Thanksgiving delivery. However, many merchants have not. Therefore, it is important to double check with the merchant. Couriers using a delivery app, should be aware that some merchants may be closed. It is possible for a delivery offer to come into the queue for a closed merchant.
Thanksgiving Delivery, a New Twist
It is also possible for the courier to cancel an order for a closed merchant. Most apps have a process for the courier to follow. It doesn’t happen often, but it does happen. With a few quick steps in the app, the offer will be canceled. The courier can also request an agent’s help to cancel the order.
There is an advantage to having an agent assist with canceling the order. It allows the courier to confirm the cancellation won’t impact the courier’s ratings. Particularly the cancellation rating. Some apps have penalties for too many canceled deliveries.
It is rare to get offers for Thanksgiving delivery from closed merchants. These days, if a merchant will be open on the holiday, it is advertised heavily. Additionally there is a growing interest/trend in letting someone else prepare the holiday meal. Which leads to a courier picking it up and delivering it. Good news for the courier.
An Old Tradition
It may still be too new, to consider an old tradition. However, at home delivery, is becoming more common on holidays. As the list of merchants grows, so does the demand for deliveries. This isn’t scientific research, although it’s likely the research does exist. This article is observation, based on experience.
The experience accumulates yearly. On the holiday. Furthermore, it is important to keep in mind that many couriers work on the holidays. Therefore, a queue of couriers is a common sight on holiday deliveries. Stay safe out there.
