The road is long. And depending on the time of day, the road is empty. 1courier is enjoying the empty road. Much of the time there is plenty happening on the road. Therefore, it is a welcome change to have all the lanes to himself.

The ride is feeling it too. It’s easy to tell, because the moment 1courier slams down the accelerator pedal, the ride leaps forward. Happily. 1courier grins. This is going to be a quick delivery. Despite the difficulty, the turnaround would be quick.

Tales of the Courier

This was the best kind of delivery. The quick turn around delivery. Ordinarily, he would linger in the unknown area, and take some time to explore. Unfortunately, there would be no time for exploring today. He was due back at HQ, and he didn’t want to be late. There was going to be a big announcement.

He thinks the announcement sounds a lot like a party. Right now he is heading into another kind of party. One that is slightly unsettling, and completely bizarre. Although it is rare, to pull one of these deliveries, they do happen.

An anti-matter delivery is the most unpredictable delivery, known to any courier. Furthermore, it is a difficult completion to achieve. 1courier knows the zone will be active the moment he arrives. With this in mind, his travel to the drop-off location will be a journey of the unpredictable.

The zone is hot as he enters the outskirts. This place is known as an anti-matter zone. This zone was on the planet Nalphia, and is the only such place, planet wide. Therefore, only certain couriers were offered runs into the anti-matter zone. The experienced ones. It was far too easy for the rookies to get lost.

In the zone

Three minutes away from the drop-off, and light no longer works. It exists here in the anti-matter zone, but it goes nowhere. For example, the flashlight shines, but only as far as the lens. Light just doesn’t work the same, in the spooky zone.

1courier turns onto the non-road. It would only be a few more minutes until his arrival at the drop-off location. Not that it was being counted. Time refused to be predictable, in this spooky non zone. He might be here for two hours. However, the clock will show only ten seconds have passed. That’s how it was with the mind over matter delivery.

1courier eases down the speed. He is arriving at the drop-off location. Furthermore, navigation tech, and any GPS system would be useless in this zone. In fact the delivery completion is only possible, with old school savvy. As 1courier arrives at the location, it vanishes. He grins. This place was ultra cool.

He grabs the cargo and hops out of the ride. As he is walking up to the vanished door of his drop-off location, the place fades into being once more. The effect is a bit disorienting, but not unpleasantly so. Likewise the cargo is ready to be left at the door of this strange dwelling.

Tales of the courier

As 1courier places the cargo at the door, he is struck with the feeling that he is being watched. In fact, he is watching himself attempt the completion. Now, he is watching himself, watch himself. Then, he is simply the cargo, waiting for transference.

He falls up. Then pulls himself back down. Within moments the courier, cargo and ride, vanish. The zone is quiet, and mostly dark now. Another completion dings in the queue. HQ begins an important announcement. All the while, somewhere, a courier grins.
