Tales of the Courier – The lost and found delivery

The road is long and winds off into the horizon. 1courier has the windows low, and the night breeze is cool. Only a few more minutes now. And he would be back at the drop-off. His feeling of, things unusual, was steadily growing larger.

With this in mind, he checks the *navi screen again. It appears to be correctly marked. So he double checks the message again. There was no doubt. The cargo was in the wrong location. 1courier spouts a few more choice words to express his consternation.

Furthermore, he has to move quickly, because the cargo is now at risk. There is no way to know if it is even still there. Much less intact. Therefore, he slams the pedal to the floor, and hangs on as the ride leaps forward.

    Tales of the Courier

A short time ago, 1courier made the completion. In fact, he had sent the confirmation to HQ before getting back on the road. If not for the quick response of the m-com link, he would not have known the delivery was in jeopardy. Within minutes, he arrives at the previous drop-off location.

    Tales of the Courier

Now, it is a matter of retrieving the cargo. As he returns to the door, he notices it is slightly ajar. Furthermore, half of the cargo is missing. 1courier checks around the area. Other than the scattered pieces of cargo, there is nothing. He feels slightly bewildered as he searches around, just in case.

HQ was adamant about having the cargo in the right place. The right place was also adamant. 1courier was just confused. He looks left, then right, then backtracks around the dwelling. There are no more pieces of the cargo laying anywhere.

In fact, when he returns to the door, the remaining cargo is also gone. The door, however, is still ajar. 1courier is certain the cargo was here a few moments ago. Furthermore, he is even more certain this is the wrong door to start with.

    Lost and Found

He checks the m-com link again. The *navi location is spot on. With deliberation he walks slowly along the sidewalk checking one last time. As he turns back around, the cargo has returned to its previous spot outside the door. 1courier blinks. The cargo is still there. He walks back to the cargo and the partially open door.

The m-com link flashes. Then it flashes again. However, it is laying unobserved on the ground, just outside a closed door. No courier, or cargo, anywhere. All is quiet. And empty.
