Tales of the Courier – The inside out delivery
It isn’t the first time this has happened. In fact, it isn’t the tenth time. In other words it has happened enough to be familiar. He checks the equipment once again. Still nothing. This will be a shot in the dark after all.
1courier grins. Seems he would have to be creative. The ride glides effortlessly down the highway. There is no GPS map to follow. It is all, by the seat of his pants, so to speak. Furthermore, there would be no communications.
Tales of the Courier
With this in mind, he checks the fuel gauge. He is under half, and that would have to do. There should be enough, based on the last details he was able to decipher. It would have to be all about the clues on this one.
Likewise, checking the address again reveals this drop-off location is in a little known area. He is confident that once in the area, the clues will lead the way. Furthermore, the location still adheres to the common ways.
1courier knows once he is in the neighborhood of the drop-off, the address numbers will increase or decrease, based on his direction of travel. All that is needed is the correct street to start the show. Additionally, he is alert for the odds.
Finding the odd numbers first, is a courier game. Whatever side the odd is on, is the side all the odds are on. Likewise with the even numbers. This is the beginning of the clues. 1courier sees a street sign with the name of the correct street.
He knows it’s correct because the sign has extra information. It is usually in smaller letters but identifies details. For example, if the road is a lane, or a court, or an avenue. Additionally there are terraces and trails.
The inside out delivery
1courier knows of at least two roads with identical names. However one is a trail and the other is a lane. Both roads are in different parts of the city. More clues. The clues always point the way. Once they can be seen, the way is clear.
He watches the numbers on the boxes as they flow past. Additionally, he keeps a close second eye out for any surprise changes in the surroundings. The countdown, or count up, continues. Within moments he has found the location.
It is almost certainly a match. Several delivery details are spot on. For example, there is an old Pontiac in the driveway. Furthermore, there are golden love birds on the front door. That is enough to consider making an approach. 1courier is ready to finish this, so the next can begin. He grins, golden love birds. Cool.
