1courier studies the cargo closely. How it got here is obvious, but why, isn’t. He pulls some of the abandoned cargo over, to uncover the bottom layers. This made the fifth one this week. It was becoming more common.

1courier stands and returns to the ride. HQ would know what to do about the abandoned cargo. In fact, he was on his way to a pick-up location. Furthermore, being late was not in his plans.

Tales of the Courier

With this in mind, he pushes the accelerator to the floor of the ride and lets the power roll. He grins, enjoying the shrieking of the rubber tires on the asphalt road. The ride leaps forward and claims ground. 1courier has selected the older model transport today. The combustion engine model.

Within seconds he is gliding along the road. Furthermore, he is enjoying the scent of burning fossil fuel and scorched gear oil. It’s the little things sometimes. He keeps an eye out for the upcoming exit. After the exit the pick-up would be close.

He thinks again about the random discarded cargo he has been finding. How is it that these are going unnoticed? Furthermore, it was abandoned cargo. Therefore, someone knew something. Indeed is this some new trend? Are couriers being paid to dump cargo rather than deliver it?

The exit nears and he guides the ride onto the off ramp. Then the m-com link lights up. He will check it when the pick-up is complete. Furthermore, he must alert HQ of the existence of another abandoned cargo discovery.

The AI traffic has increased in recent months. Therefore, he takes extra care to avoid the extremely slow vehicles. Within a few more minutes, he arrives at the pick-up location. Indeed, ahead of schedule, no less. He pulls into the location and the m-com link flashes again.

Good deliveries and quick dispatch

However, HQ could wait. Furthermore, he wants to complete the pick-up. And then be on the way as fast as possible. The pace of this location is fast today. He notices the m-com link flashing once again. This time continuously.

He checks it quickly. And stops cold. He has been recalled to HQ. This pick-up has been reassigned. Furthermore, 1courier is expected immediately. Clearly, it wasn’t a typical rush from HQ. He turns to leave the pick-up location and vanishes into thin air. The m-com link falls to the floor. Immediately, must mean immediately.
