Tales of the Courier – Better the long run
A short delivery isn’t always as short as it looks on paper. There are times where a short quick hop can turn into something more. That is the randomness in delivery. The courier must always be alert for the randomness. No matter the form it takes. It will still be a game changer in some way.
1courier grins, he was waxing philosophical, when he needed to be running. Therefore, he checks the queue again, and closes the m-com link. He floors the accelerator pedal and the ride leaps forward. He is glued to his seat, as the machine accelerates. After a few minutes the m-com link flashes again.
Tales of the Courier
This would likely be the one. 1courier checks the m-com link and accepts the offer. Furthermore, it is an excessively long delivery. However, it does pay. He mulls it over internally, as he races to the pickup location. Once there, he parks the ride and enters the cargo storage area.
Although the m-com link suggested there would be little or no waiting for the cargo, 1courier isn’t so sure. It is not the best sign when the cargo is still being prepared, when the courier arrives. With this in mind, he decides to analyze his route for the completion. Perhaps he would discover another shortcut.
As he pulls the Navigation chart for examination the m-com link flashes again. This time it is an unexpected contact. In fact, it is the drop-off location. 1courier checks the information. The drop-off location has been changed. He double checks the details only to discover they are accurate.
Furthermore, the additional mileage is considerable. He grins. Now they are playing his song. Additionally, the drop-off has offered extra money for the extra work. Now they’ve added a cool beat to his song as well.
Better the long run
As he loads the last of the cargo, he decides a straight shot for the new drop-off location would be best. Furthermore, the sooner he was back in the queue, the better. He is still thinking about this three hours later. Furthermore, he is not in the queue. Indeed. He is still not in range of the drop-off either. According to his Navigation system he is still over an hour away.
1courier slams the brakes. The ride immediately breaks loose and begins a side-slide. When they finally come to a screeching halt, 1courier checks Navigation again. He has to be sure where the drop-off is if he hopes to make the completion. However, the drop off was passed quite some time ago. He has come too far. After being not near enough.
The courier must always be alert for the randomness. He is thinking this, as he watches the shadow form on the road, and then grow. Furthermore, it is growing rapidly. 1courier looks up and sees the randomness. Additionally it’s on its way down. He grins. Time to fly.
