Tales of the Courier – Best the delivery better the drop-off

A long journey is always a good thing. In fact, it is preferred, when the ride is fast. 1courier thinks this ride is one of the fastest he’s driven. Not only is it lightning quick, but also it is nimble and powerful. He pushes the fuel pedal to the floor. The machine responds immediately.

The ride barrels down the highway. However, they are no longer late for the drop-off. 1courier grins, HQ diverted them. He contemplates what this is leading up to. However, he could not have expected this.

Furthermore, he is still astounded that HQ would alter the delivery to this degree. This is almost unprecedented. Although, it has happened before. Not every delivery, always goes according to plan. Therefore he looks at the robot. It is sitting, motionless and quiet, in the seat beside him.

    Tales of the Courier

About ten minutes ago much had changed. Not only were they on speaking terms now, but also there was an alliance. 1courier had not had great success with robots in the past. In fact it could be said, he was not very trusting of the gears and gizmos. Also all the circuits and programming.

The robot turns its head and stares at 1courier. He grins and winks at the robot. The mind reading thing takes time to adapt to. However, he was beginning to sense the possibilities. The ride picks up speed as they begin a downward stretch of highway. The day is waning.

The mind link is the link between 1courier and the strangely designed ride. He was unaware the robot could access it too. However it makes sense. Furthermore, it simplifies things for what’s ahead. This time the robot winks. 1courier grins and focuses on the road ahead.

They were scheduled to be at the facility this evening. Additionally, they were to pick up several objects and then return to the road. HQ assigned the robot to 1courier. Not only was he still trying to get his mind around this idea, but also that he now had a robot assistant.

    Best the delivery

He hadn’t felt perplexed. Indeed, it seemed like a natural connection. Similar to his connection with the ride. Besides he could think of a hundred and one things for the robot to do. Additionally they all involved hustle. He grins again. The ride levels out and blisters down the highway.

The first thing the robot could do would be to pickup the cargo. 1courier could take care of maintaining the ride while the robot did the heavy lifting. So to speak. Furthermore if there were any troubles with tires 1courier wouldn’t need a jack he already has….

The robot grabs the wheel, and pulls hard. The ride banks left impossibly fast. They begin to slide sideways and 1courier is now feeling the g-forces at play. He thinks to ask the robot why. However, the question is answered, as a large house sized object strikes the road just ahead. The shock wave rolls the ride like a tumbleweed.
