Special report for the best courier image
This is a special report for the courier. It’s not about natural disasters or conspiracy plots. Though it’s every bit as sinister. The purpose of this article is to alert. Perhaps even help, although that is something that is more effectively handled as a community.
With this in mind, it is not a broad leap to consider couriers as a community. As a whole the courier clan moves a lot of daily cargo in this country alone. Not that any one source is tracking all the cargo moved by couriers. However, it’s caught on enough to be thought of as an industry. In the opinion of this, experienced courier.
Furthermore, there are many that rely on the delivery sidehustle. Add these part time couriers to the mix and this industry is likely bigger than it seems. Additionally, many of these couriers are doing it to get by, or to make ends meet. Respectively.

Getting paid is the priority, and right now pay is the need. Tip income fills this need quickly. The delivery sidehustle also fits into just about any schedule. This is part of its appeal.
With this in mind the courier’s image is also important. Crew couriers have this as a given. For example they often have uniforms. Additionally they have managers that make final decisions. Thereby releasing the courier from the responsibility of those decisions. Also crew couriers have a home base and zone limits.
They have back-up, in other words. The solo courier not so much. With this being said, the solo courier has many things to keep in mind. On each delivery. This special report is to help shed light on, and hopefully prevent another issue for, the solo courier.
This one involves scamming the system to get a free meal. That’s why the special report. The problem is the courier has to be scammed for this to happen. The scammer gets a free meal, the delivery service keeps a customer, (in case the courier is a bad one) and the courier gets a citation for failing to complete a delivery. A delivery that the courier did, in fact, complete.
Furthermore, the courier can dispute the finding. However, the mark against the stats is already there. The chances of the app removing it once the courier’s evidence is reviewed, cleared and accepted, are slim. In my experience.

So what does this scam look like? And how can the courier protect against it? The scam is a leave at the door delivery. These days the leave at the door option is toggled on, with most deliveries. The courier must follow the steps in the app to complete the delivery. This includes taking a photo in the app, and sending it to the customer. Once the photo is accepted by the app, and sent, the delivery can be marked complete.
Occasionally, the customer greets the courier at the door. Then accepts the delivery, in person. When this happens, the courier marks the delivery complete by selecting the, handed order directly to the customer, option. This completes the delivery. No picture is taken. And this is where the door opens for the scam.
The drop-off location later calls the delivery app and complains that the order was never delivered. The app sees that the courier marked the delivery as complete. However, the drop-off location states that the delivery was not received. The courier will have a chance to dispute the claim and offer evidence. At a later time. It’s all there in the app.
Additionally, the courier can help this by completing the leave at the door process. In short, get that picture anyway. Avoid using the quick, handed order to customer option, and complete the delivery with the picture. Cover your bases. It takes an extra thirty seconds. And it’s time well spent. Stay safe out there.
