Shop and Deliver – A Run for the Honey Money
Delivery driving can be a fun and interesting way to earn a paycheck. From pizza to puppy chew toys, almost anything can be delivered, these days.
Most deliveries are picked up, and delivered to the drop off location. Time spent at the merchant is short, and the cargo is usually, ready for the pickup.
This is true with hot fresh food deliveries, and certain other cargo pickups, in short, the cargo is ready for that pickup.
Some delivery offers are a different type. They are still deliveries, but require the courier to be more involved at the pickup location.
The honey money
These types of delivery offers are called, shop and deliver. They are like a regular delivery but differ in one important way.
In a shop and deliver offer, couriers shop for the delivery items. After shopping for the items listed in the delivery, the courier pays for the items and delivers them.
If the delivery offer is being done through the Door Dash app, then the red card is used to pay for the order. It is a prepaid credit card and must be ordered from DoorDash.
Shop and deliver offers are not grocery orders so they don’t have a lot of items. Instead, they come from smaller retailers, such as the Dollar General store or Walgreens.
This type of delivery is comparable to regular hot fresh food deliveries in as much as the pay that is offered. The time it takes to complete the delivery is still up to the courier.
Pros and cons
When this type of delivery was first introduced, it didn’t catch on right away. It was slow and arduous in its time consumption.
The system was in need of improvement immediately.
Early glitches made this kind of delivery unpopular. With the continued effort of the apps, this eased into a workable delivery opportunity.
Deciding if a shop and deliver offer is a good choice is as easy as trying one. The app will have a step by step procedure, to guide the courier through the pickup.
Each step is prompted by the completion of the last.
It is important to remember to secure the payment means, before accepting these delivery offers. The cargo must be purchased before it can be delivered!
